I have a lot of time for gambles like Lokonga, Vieira, Kiwior. They were talented, unproven/unknown players from lesser leagues. We need to gamble on more of those. Of course when it fails, people blame the club, but if it's proven to be a success we are seen as a genius. Don't forget KDB, Courtois etc back then from the Belgium league are also gambles like this, and even Saliba wasn't proven but was just someone with potential.
I am even okay with gambles like Havertz to resurrect his potential as long as it doesn't eat into our kitty.
Ben White worked out well at RB, but for 50m he aint the world class CB we were hoping to be. Raya, Ramsdale are a serious waste of money as things stand because we had a top keeper who could distribute well, but backed one that couldn't really pass, then decided we want to pass out from the back better, then signed 2 similar level ones for huge fees.
