samthegooner in this climate, £60-80m for a 26 year old elite midfielder is good. His passing and carrying stats are actually outrageous, and he is healthy as a button. It's an IQ test if he's available and interested.

He would slot in perfectly next to Rice and would fill both of the huge weaknesses we have right now - dealing with low blocks and also providing a big transition threat through his distribution and ability to carry the ball from deep. I'm on board the reverse-overmars arc for frenkie. him and rice can really control the tone of games, and free up odegaard from having to drop back too much. he's available for a low-ish transfer fee because his salary would be obscene, but if you want to move the needle at this stage of our cycle that's usually what it takes

He’s very good but I’m wondering if we need a midfielder who can shoot well from distance. Madrid have it with Modric, and Kroos, City with DeBruyne for example. can’t think of many players available on the market at the moment though.
lorddulaarsenal Ballstriking throughout the squad is what sets apart Manchester City and Liverpool to me. They have so many players that can hit a ball from deep or at least get good contact on loose balls in the box. We've seen them save so many points this year due to this ability (MacAllister, Rodri, KDB, Bernardo Silva, Nunez all have done it). I do agree that getting better ball strikers in the squad is a must in the coming years to steal some points.

lorddulaarsenal I would absolutely take him. Premiership proven, Decent age at 24, would give us that proper alternative to Saka we are badly in need of, and would not cost 900threellion or whatever exorbitant fee the very top wingers are commanding these days.
