Claudius Bayern and Porto weren't really press resistant, they just know that we are no threat when they sit back. Both these teams gave us the ball, set back in banks of 3 and just flood the middle. We have no creativity and invention to play through them and made it very easy for them. When we get it out wide, they press and we inevitably go back to the CBs. We have no other ways of playing.
In fact, the way to counter us has been very very evident since Olympiacos and Sporting coach did it. Fulham did the same at Craven Cottage. It is always the same way and we have not found a solution for the past 4 years.
On the evidence of yesterday, Jorginho had one brilliant ball through to White for a cross, but other than that he was very ineffective as well because Bayern played deep and he has no throughballs available. Zubimendi will not be a solution in cases like these too, but you are right about Kvarashektlia. That's a name that will help us, not Gordon.
