Winning the title is more about the players, supporters, and commercial deals rather than the direct prize money involved. Not sure what the current figures are but it used to be 50% was distributed as an equal share to each club, and then clubs got another 2.2m based upon their position on the table. That means the difference between the top4 is less than 10m from 1st to 4th, and less than 3m between 1st and 2nd. Similarly during the Wenger Years the best bang for your buck in the UCL was in the Group Stage, compared to the investment needed to compete to win it - hence the EPL 'trophy' for finishing 4th.
KSE may well decide to double down and 'trust the process' as they did last Jan, rather than look to spend the levels needed to be a genuine and ongoing competition for MC. By this I mean this squad is not built to win the EPL this season but is designed more towards doing so in another couple of seasons, by which time Pep may have departed MC and they may be in transition on and off the pitch and not be as dominant in quality as they are now.
That said the 'process' is not likely to have considered the impacts of NUFC becoming potentially the richest club in the game ahead of MC or PSG, let alone that another top4 club may also improve their potential revenues by also being sold or part thereof (LFC).
