Yeah … I think given the landscape of the league it remains an outside chance we'll scoop any league titles even with the great squad we're putting together, but KSE deserve credit for us being in a much better position to do so than was widely anticipated.

This is a league where recent Champions League winners are getting dragged by cashed up midtable contenders, it's highly competitive.

Yet the CL was only won twice in the last ten years by a PL club, still by far the biggest competition on earth.

The way football and commercialisation is going I don't see any way the financiers at JPM GS etc are going to say 'yeah having Bournemouth Soton and Brentford Everton fixtures is going to drive subscription rates and sales up'.

There's way too much money involved for these things not to happen and despite the PL's extreme financial muscle power the likes of Madrid and Barca are as big or bigger than any English club, Milan Inter are far more interesting to a global audience than any club outside the top 4 etc. Big money always finds a way

The amount of money it would garner in rights packages would be wild. Every regular league in Europe would be devalued, meaning the billion or so going in TV rights annually to each of Ligue 1, LaLiga and the Bundesliga would join the large part of the Premier League rights in being redirected to the new competition.

Lot to do to get there, but it simply can't be ruled out as long as it represents a step change in revenue for all these clubs, which is why they keep hatching new dirty plots to get it going.

I feel like it's going to be a long, painful window full of brinkmanship. Hopefully I'm wrong and we can make some additions before the Spurs & United games. We really owe United one for that OT game

Talk of a £8m for Joao Felix loan until the end of the season. Then there would be an option to buy the player. If Jesus is potentially out until Feb/Mar it wouldn't be the worst deal in the world.

JazzG If we can negotiate that with a future optional fee that would be daylight robbery for a Jan window.

Wouldn't say no. We definitely need at least 2 quality additions in January if our cup performances this season are any indication of how we'll cope without Jesus

Talks about the Joao Felix loan story, Mudryk and Rafael Leao. Want Mudryk though Leao would be amazing too

Clrnc I think it would be a great deal for us if we can get the fee optional. Atletico will play hard ball but the player isn't worth £100m going by his current form. They have paid big money for him though so they'll be looking to get a tidy sum

Irishgunner Mudryk seems to be nailed on but I reckon there will be another as well. Also think/hope we will move early in the window and get our deals done.

To me seeing Arteta being so vocal about the need to add more and high quality players seems rather suspicious. If I remember well, many of our recent signings were done in secrecy, so I don't get why we'd go against that and show our hand by speaking quite publicly about adding quite a number of players.

Herbas nah it’s nothing new. He’s been vocal about the need to add quality in pretty much every transfer window he’s had.

I'd be happy with either the Ukranian winger or a loan deal for Felix

JazzG I think they will likely prioritise a mandatory permanent fee so if we can negotiate that down to 70-80m it will still be a good deal considering how valuable Felix is and potentially as well. That's the going rate for top young players and Felix is better potential than Nkunku.

Leagues are won on firepower so if we have a Felix + Mudryk we can hold off the CM problem till the summer again. But if we want Danilo we have to get it done in January to avoid those mid-season crap again.

Both Leao and Mudryk look fantastic. Either one would be a terrific signing.

Leao is probably on a different level entirely to Mudryk, but if we sign the latter then hopefully he can reach it one day.

QuincyAbeyie not sure about that yet. Leao is very peripheral in games for me, lives on moments. Only thing he has over Mudryk is power.

Clrnc Mudryk is really no slouch in the power department either, from what I've seen.
