Really disappointing to miss out but is what is, sounded like we were getting close a couple days ago. The money was getting ridiculous though. As fans we get carried away but the club has a responsibility to be sensible and draw a line somewhere. From having a look on Twitter the final figure isn't massively higher but it looks much more favourable otherwise for Shakhtar.
I would have thought/hoped the player would have pushed harder to join us. Chelsea might have offered him a lot more money to make up for it though! Chelsea probably won't be playing in the CL next season either so hope it is worth it!
GooneriC I don't we messed anything up, simply put Chelsea blew our bid out of the water. We either play the game and Shakhtar potentially keep raising the price. At the end of the day they need to do what is best for their club and they've played a blinder here to sucker Chelsea in. We had to draw a line somewhere and then it is up to the player and selling club.
