Arteta should never weird ass experiments again.

Rules of the season moving forward:

1) Partey is NOT a RB. Play him in midfield period.
2) Start Gabriel every game (bar domestic cups maybe) when fit.
3) Havertz is NOT a number 8. ‘Plan B’ striker - let him be what Giroud should have been for us, an off the bench option up front.

Gazza M I think thats part of being a manager though. Injuries and other issues often forced Wenger to find solutions that he then stuck with. And we don't know if Timber might have been moved to the right on Zinchenkos return.

Gazza M it's been a blessing in disguise tbh. Allowed us back our best cb partnership and probably also gave Tomi more game time to become a natural inverted LB

Qwiss it felt different with Wenger though. arteta demands and gets what he wants in terms of recruitment, and sometimes makes a meal out of his tactical choices. Wenger asked for little by comparison and just left himself constantly short on options, and that was the root cause of his forced improvisation, but I never felt injuries saved us from overwrought strategic choices like with arteta. sans injuries, there's a good chance gabriel would still be on the bench, for example. willian getting injured and ESR saving his bacon is another

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Oh, I've been desperate for two like these since the glory days of Toure and Campbell - and even then, not to diminish Kolo, he was a midfielder playing centre back blessed with incredible recovery pace. Koscielny and Merte were a great combo, but fallible in a way that I don't see with Gabriel & Willy - they are both colossuses.

Saliba has Toures pace but also has the height and frame of a monster CB plus he has the instincts. And on top of all that he's a phenomenal passer. Not quite at Sol Campbell of 03/04 levels yet but if he keeps playing like this he might be. With Sol I always felt he had everything under control, the opposition would break and if we weren't out numbered or whatever you knew Sol would sort it out. We are getting there with Saliba and Gabriel now.

Personal issues or not, you never bail out on your team half way through (unless you knew about the issues before).

Sicario2 - Tier 1 no one knows the answer to that question because we weren't in the room to know what exactly happened. Blame Wenger if anything but in these kind of cases it's very hard to blane anyone.
