He showed very early on that he was a proper defender. But he's improved since then into an even better one.
Think the only reason he probably doesn't get more plaudits is because he does a lot of dirty work, whilst Saliba is the one who looks so silky smooth on the ball. But I don't think his somewhat awkward technique diminishes his own ability on the ball, which is underrated.
