here is where things stand on my rage/depression index

10 (most rage) - the fact that our "rivals" continue to sell their trash for top dollar, while we let our young players with actual upside go on loans and run their contracts down, or worse, freeze them out without even finding suitable loans

7 (high rage) - arteta will be here forever

5 (major depression) - we are still counting on xhaka as a starter, because we havent moved for a CM. its inexcusable

3 (moderate depression) - rightback is still a complete mess

Truth is, not you or anyone else know how those deals will turn out, so they shouldn't be used as a rod to beat the club.

If you want to point to transfers that have fucked us, there are far more obvious examples like the much fancied and much vaunted signings of Partey, Gabriel, Saliba and even Tierney to an extent. These guys range from average to absolute busts so far.

Seems like you're contradicting yourself here, if you're not in a position to judge the deals for White and Ramsdale yet you can't do it for someone like Partey either yet after just a season.

Of course it's possible to make those judgments based on reputation, past performances, fee and percentage of overall transfer budget, otherwise what's the point of discussing any player until the end of their deals here. Ray is bang on about what most of us saw early on, our splashing of 80m has left us hamstrung elsewhere and now we're scrambling for solutions with a ridiculously imbalanced squad.

We're hamstrung because we have too many players to register. It's the outgoings that are the issue. I don't agree with not signing your targets because somewhere down the line you 'may' be able to sign a different one; get in who the fuck you can right away. Some may see it different and that's okay.

I can solidly say that as thing stand, Partey, Gabriel etc. have been terrible to middling signings for Arsenal, based upon their perfomance for Arsenal. There is no contradiction there.

Cryptic message from Bell:

When everyone is scrambling for their jobs, somebody has to lose.

Edu to go first. Maybe they're going to hang him for something he did in Brazil. He seems to have been involved in a lot of dubious stuff.

The contradiction is that "not you or anyone else" know how the signings of Partey, Gabriel, Saliba and Tierney will turn out either, because their careers here aren't done. Sure you can judge on what they've done at Arsenal so far, but then you can also judge Ramsdale on what he's done before Arsenal. Not sure why Partey's injury riddled season under Arteta would be a better predictor for future performances than the entire rest of his career just because it happened at Arsenal.

edu going would be a great first step.

second step is the new guy actually being someone who knows what the fuck they are doing.

third set is binning arteta

Edu has always struck me as being cut from the same cloth as Raul, except probs less effective. Iโ€™ve tried to be fair to him but our decision making this summer has been bonkers.

Willians message on IG all but confirmed he gave up all the money here to terminate his contract for free, and to give the media who accused him of being a mercenary a tight slap.

Camavinga to Real. 30m euros.

Hope he don't get a fair chance and then we sign him 2 years later.

did he run down his contract or something? thought he was an elite talent

Not to mention the world of Brazillian agents is full of dodgy dealings.

One year left apparently. I thought he'd be one to watch in Jan tran but alas.

Would like to see the Mbappe transfer go over the line.

Rumours in Italy that Juventus are looking to sell Kulusevski to sort out their finances. Jesus christ, get in on this.

Hard not to disagree. Amidst the occasional success, there's a been a lot of average (at best) leadership from him. Really not sure what value he's adding to the club. For all Arteta's faults, it'd be nice to know that there's some kind of plan but feel like Edu's got nothing.

Bummer. It keeps getting worse.
Edit: I see, thanks for the long-weekend send off mate!

Auba out, Origi in.

Troll account.

Honestly I don't think even Edu and Arteta are that insane to sanction that deal.

Origi is fucking garbage and I mean true relegation tier team striker.

I wouldn't be surprised if Auba doesn't see eye to eye with Arteta either, he can't be enjoying the football we are serving up. Wonder how Saka feels? I think we will lose him easily next year the longer this circus goes on.

Confirmed deals on deadline day.

Norwich city sign Norwegian international Mathias Normann (from FC Rostov) and Ozan Kabak (From Schalke) on season long loans.

Wolves sign Hwang Hee Chan on loan from Leipzig. Honestly speaking, he flopped hard last season in Bundesliga.

he left his post with the Brazil nt under a cloud of controversy as well, which always did niggle ones mind.

basically the kroenkes formula for hiring edu and arteta was

peps acolyte factor + former arsenal player factor + former invincible factor + we did this at the rams and it worked factor + gullible fans factor + we have super league money coming anyway factor + they'll come cheap factor = fuck it let's do it.

Sounds about right.

Emerson to Spurs confirmed for 30m, with 5m going to betis. I can see why we might have baulked at that figure

We baulk at the 30m euro asking price but thought it was okay to pay 35m euro for our backup keeper?

Fitting for this Management team

its just so bizarre how we've treated the right back position, when fullbacks are clearly so important to our play. bellerin moves like the tin man, chambers is sooo slow, and cedric is barely a professional footballer. yet on the other side we have an excellent attacking LB and a very promising young LB with skill and physical attributes.

why do we completely ignore the right side?

10 and a half hours until the window closes. I think it is fair to say we are done for the summer. The big business today should revolve around Kounde, Saul and Mbappe. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

It's more a Valencia thing, than to do with his ability. They are even more poorly run than Arsenal.

He's around Smith-Rowe kind of level.

The Valencia fans are livid. He is rated as their best talent. I mean he just won the golden ball in the u20 world cup, first Asian player to ever win it.

Anyway there's sort of a shady deal going on with Mallorca. He is going there like on "loan" and if he does well a big club will take him on a cheap.

AS saying Bellerin deal in danger of collapsing. Money problem, they will move for Aurier.
