I think I read somewhere that a club can only have one player on loan from the same club, which would mean thst Ceballos has to go back. I'll let someone else confirm whether this is true or not.

Someone claimed it's not true when it comes to loans from Spain, but Premier League clubs can't have more than two players on loan at the same time, so same difference really. We just loaned Ryan so Ceballos would indeed have to leave to make room.

Edit: I'm actually not sure about the loan rule either, I think it might just pertain to English clubs. Where's that Premier League handbook...

The 2 loans at time is definitely from PL clubs and not European. Don't know about the 2 from 1 club rule.

...under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.

Sure makes it sound like Ceballos would have to go back.

Bit of a confusing article, seemingly the rules only apply for English clubs. Should be fine.

Lol. The club wouldnt have gone through all this effort with MO and his team if there was a case we couldnt get him on loan, they are not stupid.

We wont let go of Ceballos half way through the season.

I think the text on that website is just for loans between English clubs. I checked the PL squad lists and Fulham currently have 6 players on loan (although from 6 different clubs).

Edit: And Spurs have both Gedson Fernandes and Carlos Vinicius on loan from Benfica. So that settles that I guess.

I did some more digging and I think FIFA rules are 8 max (over 22). Its all very confusing. Anyway I think we're fine with 3.

We're fine, the rules posted by qs are for loans between English clubs. Fulham have about 6 loan deals at the moment.

Thanks for clarifying that goon.

I'm not an expert on Ødegaard, but this is an exciting signing for me.

He looks very smart, obviously super technically, and should combine really well with Partey and Smith Rowe. He doesn't look overly athletic, and I know there are reports of Zidane being umimpressed by his defensive effort, but with the ground ESR covers and also his great ability to make sprints beyond the ball, it could work well as a partnership. Even if we have to play one of them on the flank to get the defnesive balance right.

Exciting stuff! 🙂

Will be interesting to see where he fits. I hope we don't have a case of a talented youngster losing out to him and then he buggers off in the summer. Get an option to buy in

I wonder if either him or esr can play deeper. They're not built for it but the thought is good

Exciting but also disappointing if no option to buy

No option to buy is just a bullshit move. We shouldn't do that deal.

As always with loans, we should do this deal if the following are true:

  • We weren't going to/couldn't sign a great player, so the alternative was either nobody or a mediocre one and

  • we believe he will strengthen us for the period he's here compared to not signing anyone.

Yeah, really short sighted if there is no option to buy.

I think we always look to buy with our loans, right? At least recently with both Mari and Cedric.

It depends on what Madrid expect - at the very least we should have first refusal.

Maybe I'm crazy but it's probably because Madrid wouldn't agree to that?

Not sure therefore it's that big a deal of it was never in the table. The reality is, we urgently need someone in that position right now and don't want to pay January prices for a permanent long-term solution.

If R.Madrid say deal is loan only or no deal should we walk away?

I agree it is a bit shit but I think the current market is absolutely dead as well, he might be the only decent option we have on loan or we have to pay massively over the odds for someone like Buendia. He's out of contract in 18 months as well so if he does well might put us in a strong position to do a deal in the summer.
