  • Official: Mikel Arteta is the new Arsenal manager.

Its coming up to his 5th year anniversary at Arsenal in a couple of weeks. One piece of silverware to his resume.

Would he have survived if he was at United?

Lolz, as if United are the model anyone should be following at this point! 😂

Segway you would think they'd have learnt a thing or two having been lost in the wilderness for the past ten years. Brain dead.

SimplyThePest they are a weird fanbase. I saw their post match thread and some of them saying they didn't lose to us. Was an even match without set pieces. Most don't mind losing to us because we only scored from corners.

    Like it doesn't count lol

Clrnc it's also not really borne out by what happened during the match. I know the first half was a nothing, but in the second half we created plenty of open play opportunities - we just didn't take them. They created nothing, one cross shot and that header and that was basically it. You can't complain about losing when that is the sum total of 90 minutes output.

If they want to carry on like 2010 Arsene Wenger, that's their lookout I reckon. Let them get on with it.

flobaba me too. Love us being physically dominant whilst being intelligent with it too.

Mik Arteta is a serious manager.

Was interesting to hear him speak about how we can improve still by introducing a threat with runs in behind and having someone in the attack capable of moments of magic.

        Leao and Isak please

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Desperate stuff there, but I admit I'd despise Arteta if he managed another club. He doesn't have a scrap of decency or generosity towards other setups in him, that's one of his distinctive qualities.

You can tell Arteta observes and learns from other - introducing new aspects to our armoury over time.

Motivated intelligent competitive sponge that he is

goon Yes, those "Supports: Arsenal" blokes in the linked thread give me the heebie jeebies. Very odd behaviour.

goon Redcafe's pathetic. They were cheering City - their local rivals - on over us past couple of seasons.

SimplyThePest funny you say that, I've literally just had one of my Brentford mates having a little pop at us and it's like ” well, hold on a second there my friend...!"

Claudius I think they hated Wenger more than Arsenal and much of that due to how he viewed and approached the game.

And because he was French/"foreign". Let's not forget it was never just a football thing.

And they don't give Saka the recognition he deserves because he's black. Remember how he became the face of England's failure just a few months ago? Not even subtle. And till this day, no apologies, no repercussions, no accountability, nothing. They're still out there, waiting to drag him down.
