I think mostly people don't talk about it because our idea of achievement is completely geared towards top clubs and big trophies. I understand why someone would give it to Klopp, maybe particularly this year where Liverpool's win percentage is so crazy, but I've always disagreed with the top heavy focus in football. I think any award worth its name should at least partly reflect the fact that competition is a question of means, not just trophies. We already have the literal trophies to give to the winners.

Shef Utd manager should be given manager of the year if they finish in a Europa League (or better) position then

Chris Wilder should absolutely be a strong contender for manager of the year in England if he gets them to qualify for Europa League, yes (never mind if he finishes 5th which might give them Champions League football next season).

Just noticed RB Leipzig didn't even exist the last time Spurs won a trophy. 😆

😆 That's an amazing factoid. Were they really founded in 2009?

Spurs lumbered with champs league salaries for a load of dross

You bloody love to see it

Kane can still wheel out the AIA cup when all is said and done

So Getafe understandably refusing to go to Milan for their match while Roma now are equally understandably refused authorisation to land in Sevilla for theirs. I just don't see this season being played to its conclusion, at least not European matches.

You can get creative, Quincy. Take a break for now. Do the last 16 and QFs. And then do the end in a final four style tournament in a a nice city like Barcelona over 5 days.

No need. They’ve booked a Saturday for the final. Just move it to a Sunday. And then hold the semis on Wednesday and Thursday. It’s actually in Istanbul. They can use the Olympic stadium and Gala’s stadium for the semis.

This virus is a bumbaclat. But Uefa needs to start getting creative now to make sure we get through the season. Clubs need to be flexible. It might mean being willing to pro-rate domestic seasons as well, maybe a 35 game season in England, for example. After 35 games, if you don’t have your shit together, you don’t deserve to go to Europe or stay up.

Roma weren't allowed to land in Sevilla, is it different in Barcelona? But yeah, they have to get creative. I actually don't think there will be a problem with the domestic leagues, just playing without spectators should be enough.

Talismanic.

Why is he 32, such a wasted career to be peaking at late age. With the ability he have he should have had a far better career. Always love a playmaker who have such an amazing shot in him. Proper baller

He could easily have 3-4 years left at top level and get a statue in Bergamo once he retires, Clrnc. It all depends on circumstances.

Personally I think it's charming. You used to have a lot more players like this 15-20 years ago, who didn't follow the typical career trajectory and ended up enriching the game by spending their peak at smaller clubs because of it. I just know that I wouldn't be enjoying Ilicic as much right now if he were playing for Real Madrid for instance, because I hate Real Madrid and they fucking ruin everything.

I always think of Di Natale as having a great twilight in his career.

Yeah, all his best seasons scoring wise came after he turned 31.

The closed door crap is just stupid, the fans are just all gathering outside the stadium instead.

What a contrast between the two stadiums. One buzzing with fans pressed against each other. The other completely empty.

Good early chance for Costa.

You can lead a donkey to water.....

Probably makes it worse to be honest

I think this is what they alluded to when discussing stadium closures over here, people will just go congregate somewhere else. People suck.
