I don’t know what to make of Atlético’s style. On one hand it makes them so hard to beat, on the other hand it makes their defeat almost inevitable. As well as they defend, they still do concede plenty of half chances and one or two really good ones.

Atletico are giving Arnold all the time in the world to do the one thing he's good at. It's the problem that playing so deep and narrow and with a slow player with no attacking threat in Saul out on the left.
Chamberlain has probably been even more dangerous when he's pulled out wide for the same reason. Rubbish when in the middle though.

Emery tried that tactic and it worked for a while, I don’t think it’s the worst idea. If you’re sitting deep then dealing with crosses isn’t all that hard.
Salah really has been shit in this game.
Salah is drawing double teams, definitely opening up space in the middle but Firmino hasn't done much with it. Seems Wjnaldum is benefiting from that.

Exactly. They're giving Lodi a tough time out there. He's not getting enough help. Ox keeps floating free past him. And sometimes Firmino will drift out there as well
