The spurs goal line is glorious and worrying at the same time....they may end up getting rid of Mourinho sooner rather than later.

He’s on an insane contract. They might be stuck with him for another half year at least

Will he criticise his keeper after the game like he did with Ndombele? Hoping for a rant

Atalanta get a 2nd penalty. Illcic with his 2nd goal. Valencia dead and buried now.

They'd have to win 6-2 now to have a better aggregate, right? 5 goals in the second half without Atalanta scoring another one. Quite a challenge.

At some point you run out of people to blame. He's playing against a much better coached team tonight. They're getting cut up on the flanks.

It would be typical of Mourinho to start kicking the shit out of them in the second half though and then get a dodgy penalty in the 85th minute which Dele Alli converts.

2-2 in Valencia-Atalanta now. Kevin Gameiro again. Underrated player.

Lamela is a horrid player

Love Mourinho meltdowns. Maybe a goal more does the magic

3-3 in Valencia-Atalanta now. Ilicic hattrick. Who needs to defend when you have him!

Even when he’s losing Dele Alli has the most punchable face. Wish someone like Mustafi would make himself an instant legend by just punching that perma smirk off his mug

Neither guy is world class, but we should've used guys like lo celso or bruno Fernandes. Both look they'll be key players for their teams

Just been dreaming of an Upamecano- Saliba backline. That’s 25 goal a season territory. Dayot is a beast/unit.

Is lo celso worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as fernandes?

4-3 Atalanta. Josip Ilicic with his 4th for the night. Just going about business as usual.

There was no attempt to play the man there 😆

Another Leipzig goal...sweet

Guy’s been incredible this season
By the way, not enough credit is given to a manager who has evolved his ideas to give us this free flowing style of football. Will have to watch tomorrow.

Forsberg makes it 3-0 😆

Look at that movement from Remo Freuler. Always said we bought the wrong Swiss midfielder.

He has literally done it on a relegation team budget too. I think Atalanta's wage bill is less than 40 million. They had to sell their best defender this summer to make money and their striker (and star player) has been out injured for most of the season. Gasperini should get manager of the year regardless of what happens. He won't of course, but doing what he's doing in Bergamo is harder than doing what Klopp is doing with Liverpool.

Freuler played for Luzern and hadn't even gotten a minute for Switzerland at the time we bought Xhaka, very impressive if you actually said that at the time.

Hmm, I might get the years mixed up. Didn't he move to Atalanta the same summer we bought Xhaka? I'd seen neither of them at the time, but it didn't take long to realise how shit Xhaka is.

At any rate, Freuler is twice the player.

FT. 4-3 Atalanta. 8-4 on aggregate. Good stuff on display tonight.

Hahahaha. This is the end of the road for Spurs. Good luck to them this summer. Let’s see if they can play general manager

I can't wait for Mourinho's post-match interview now.

Odd hearing just a few voices celebrating these goals. Feels like you're watching U21 games.

Also, let's take a moment to remember this wisdom from Chiellini because it's still so good:

Based on how the German teams have hosed Chelsea and Spurs; we can safely say the chasing pack in England is very weak.

Mourinho says tonight’s exit “probably is good” for the future. He’s blaming injuries. Says won’t rebuild the squad.

Tonight was a good night.

Arguably the best put down in football history

I'm so glad these injuries hit spurs. Not only does it hurt theur results, but it will cause jose to meltdown faster and lash out at people

They actually spent the least money in Serie A this season (net) and that's in a league with much less money than the PL. Not sure if I agree that he should win it regardless of what happens though. Maybe what he's doing is harder than what Klopp is doing with Liverpool, I don't know, but there may be managers in lower leagues doing things more difficult as well. Nobody's talking about them because  it's not just about having the toughest achievement, actually winning things is important as well. If Klopp wins the CL and the league it'd be crazy not to give it to him.

I think mostly people don't talk about it because our idea of achievement is completely geared towards top clubs and big trophies. I understand why someone would give it to Klopp, maybe particularly this year where Liverpool's win percentage is so crazy, but I've always disagreed with the top heavy focus in football. I think any award worth its name should at least partly reflect the fact that competition is a question of means, not just trophies. We already have the literal trophies to give to the winners.

I think it's hard because the question then is how far down do we go. Maybe there's someone keeping their club in the Championship on a League Two budget, I have no idea.

Shef Utd manager should be given manager of the year if they finish in a Europa League (or better) position then

Me neither, but I'd love to know. I personally think it would be a lot more interesting than seeing Zidane and Guardiola lazily rake home another trophy for no other reason than having more money than virtually anyone else.
