- Offside for their penalty
- soft touch for their penalty Mustafi clearly bumped him, was a foul
- soft call for our penalty
- Vertonghen literally five yards into the box when Auba takes the pen
- barges into him for the rebound C'mon, you're grasping here. That was a great block (bar your point above)
- no red for Rose for stomping Leno
- dozens of unpunished elbows and violent shoves all over It's a derby, didn't see anything that bad
- diving all over the pitch Taylor kept his cards at bay for lots of fouls and dives early, didn't seem a bad thing...kept the game flowing and not interrupted by cards.
- red card for Torreira for good measure Mid week weren't all of us clamoring for a red against Bournemouth for a similar tackle?
Yeah seems evenly matched.
I think people are only upset at the ref because he had to be involved with major decisions. In my opinion, he didn't get many of them wrong.
In my opinion he got all of them wrong. No idea how you could arrive at that assessment above but fair enough agree to disagree.
I thought our pen was soft and clearly the officials missed the offside but they were the real bad decisions for me and they ended up balancing out today.
I think with VAR Spurs wouldn't get a penalty. Offside would be called. It's annoying , we have really had some howlers given against us in recent years as well as stonewall penalties denied.

IMO not only did the officials get the key decisions wrong in the 2nd half, they all went against us and benefitted TH.
Further to that IMO they also showed a loack of consistency re the red for Torreira and a yellow for Rose. Torreira got the ball and his momentum took him into the player, whereas I don't think Rose got any of the ball before he planted Leno front on with a straight leg to the chest studs up.
Had Mustafi not had his usual brain fart I doubt TH would have scored, and the goal changed the impetus of the game.
Likewise PEA's penalty should have been retaken as Vertongen had well encroached ahead of the ball being struck & would not have been in position to clear the line from the 2nd play.
I also want to highlight the numerous fouls committed on Lacazette in the 1st half, and excusing it as being a derby is just BS.
That said I was disappointed with our play going forward after both PEA and Ozil had come on as we failed to control the ball in the opposition half well enough to provide quality ball to Ozil & PEA.
I was also frustrated with Iwobi in regards to both his lack of penetration wide & his poor positioning off the ball (more so in the 1st half). By contrast I thought Mkhi was genuine quality on and off the ball.
I thought Emery got his tactics, shape and selections right up to the point TH scored, after which IMO we let the game get away from us. Even then IMO we still had the opportunities to win so IMO this is 2 points dropped and it's on the players not the manager, with the officials getting an 'assist' for their 'no show' in the 2nd half.
For mind this result now makes next w/end v MU a 'must win' re top4.

If Mustafi wasn't a first class idiot and hadn't nudged Kane, we come away with a fantastic 1-0 away win at the scum. Quality matters more than refereeing errors.
I was happy with the performance even though massively annoyed by the result. To be happy with a performance, with the team as it has been before, is a good thing.
Watched the highlights again. Game really comes down to two things to us. Aubameyang missed penalty and Mustafi shove in Kane’s back. You’d expect your striker to score his penalties most of the time, although that’s not a given. As for Mustafi, pushing a striker who is unlikely to get a ball, and is well covered by another defender and the goalie is beyond imbecilic. If Koscielny does that, it’s unfortunate. However, for this guy, it’s habitual and, in that moment, caused a 3 point swing in the race for 3rd.
By the way, full credit to Emery for the way he set the team up. The choice of Rambo vs Ozil, Iwobi, Laca at point instead of Auba, spot on. Even Doozy instead of Torreira made sense as the first half progressed. I assume Kola was not playing as a precaution. Mustafi instead of a proper RB was the one odd choice, but prior to the peno he had a mostly solid if somewhat low impact game (which isn't too different from what Jenko and Lichsteiner produce, Bellers being our only high impact RB).

I was dreading him taking it even before he stepped up and they showed the graphic of his previous attempts. Seeing the graphic made me realise just how bad they had been previously and that it wasn't just my imagination. All taken really narrow and not even close to the corner.
Auba is a bit like Henry when it comes to penalties. You were never quite confident that he'd put it away either. He could just as easily bang it right at the keeper.
Out of the players we've got I'd maybe be tempted to give Ramsey a shot if we're obsessing about details. Auba's record is good though; 4 out of 5 penalties is the kind of quantity you're usually looking for.
I was never not confident when Thierry ever stood up to take one. Even if he missed, although I can't remember many from him, Thierry more often than not scored whilst hitting them low and hard into the corners.
Auba doesn't hit it hard enough or far enough into the corner to make it a good penalty. Even when he's managed to score I feel more relief that he didn't fuck it up rather than expecting him to score. And that wasn't because of what happened yesterday by the way. No idea what his penalty taking was like before he joined us but it doesn't fill me with confidence.
Spurs could spurs up top 4 - first time in ages they look flat
I’m still angry, we should have won that game 4 fucking 0.
Their goal was offside.
Ramsey’s goal
Lacazette early miss in first half.
Lacazette big chance in second half.
Aubameyang missed pen.
Mustafi is a disgrace who should never play for us again, Lacazette and Aubameyang need to score in every game left to make up for that, sickening.
Their fans should be worried. They looked bereft of ideas and error prone. Bvb will kill them if they keep playing the way they are, and they'll drop plenty more league points too. I think the rapid collapse of their 'title bid' has left them feeling rudderless
If we're going to analyse every decision in order to feel 'robbed', please remember that Xhaka should have been off in the first half.
Watching Ramsey's goal and celebration again and can't help but feel gutted we're losing him for nothing. This is a man with quality, experience and balls. Not many in the squad like him.

True, should have mentioned hos Rose should have got a red for his assault on Leno and Sanchez should have got a red for his stamp on Koscielny.

He has always been captain-crunchtime in terms of big goals. That's not always so easy to replace
Hate xhaka and Mustafi - such handicaps to our game
After leading for an hour then conceding late, i was disappointed.
The penalty miss was the worst as i'm still traumatised by Bergkamp's miss that allowed manu to win the treble 2 decades ago.
Thing is there is no blame as Auba is our designated penalty taker.
He missed, it's unfortunate, we move on.
These things happen occasionally.
Messi, by far the best player on the planet, has missed loads of penalties and Mustafi's role in our team is to fuck up every game.
Like every Gooner and spud, i'm would have accepted a draw before the game so ...
Spurs will drop a level when Eriksen goes
