Neither Carrasco or Perisic are on the level where you'd expect them to contribute with anything useful in January. Carrasco's been a mixed bag in China, and it's off-season there now to boot. Perisic on his part has been absolute bullshit for Inter this year; I'm not sure people appreciate how much his stock has fallen. Carrasco would have had more upside of the two in the longterm since he's younger, but we would have taken a gamble on either player.
I think we are better off trying to get someone proper the next window; someone with more obvious upside. It sounds like we'll have extra money by then thanks to the new sponsor deal. Maybe we can splash on Thorgan Hazard or Cengiz Under or someone like that.
