Apparently Zenden won't play.

The 34-year-old Dutchman has been ruled out of the game at the Emirates Stadium with after picking up a calf injury during the warm-up at Everton at the weekend.

He becomes the latest man to join manager Steve Bruce's casualty list, which has cost him the services of Fraizer Campbell, Michael Turner, Lee Cattermole, Danny Welbeck, David Meyler and Nedum Onuoha in recent months.

Does Zenden usually play? :\

No idea to be honest. I just saw the headline. I suppose he could've played a role when you keep in mind the other injuries they have.

This seems like a pretty good time to play them. I'm glad we don't have to face Welbeck, Turner and Cattermole.

cattermole is out? if so that's good news because that hack would have injured one of our players ahead of barca.

szczesny
clichy djourou kos sagna
song diaby
arshavin wilshere nasri
bendtner

He's picked up a back injury according to Physioroom and won't feature until next weekend.

Looking forward to this. Good to hear Sunderland have injury worries of their own.

Let's restore some pride by beating the Black Cats and getting ourselves within one point of the top.

Today's subs tell you who'll be starting against Sunderland - Diaby and Bendtner coming off early doors suggest they'll get the nod. Team picks itself really, and Meatwad has the right players (though I suspect Clichy will play on the left and Sagna on the right!).

😆 i write them down how i face the screen.

Not sure if Song will play, may rest him for the barca game as he's got a slight knock.

Not too bad a starting XI given our current situation.
Both Bendtner and Diaby had good games tonight so hopefully they can reproduce that at the weekend.

I read today that Kos and Squillaci were our CB pair in all of our PL defeats this season and either Al or Fabianski were in goal in all but one of those defeats (Sczcesny / United).

Barring some unforeseen disaster we're not going to see Al /Squillaci /Kos together for this so that already improves our chances.

We look pretty toothless without Fabregas and Robin. Team seems to just collapse. Gyan will be a big threat imo. Really impressed by him this season, technically talented, quick, intelligent and scores goals. Should have got him instead of Chamakh.

If we win this i will be quite surprised.

Is Cesc definitely out for this then? All the seem to bloody care about is asking if he'll be fit for Barcelona.

Think Diaby will do a decent job in there anyway, loved his hunger going forward tonight.

I don't know that it's definite that Cesc is out for this.
We might be surprised and see him on the bench?
I can't imagine that he'd be in the starting XI.

Wenger said he wont test Fabregas before Monday. So yea he said its certain.

Song is injured too, isn't it?

It will be a midfield of Denilson, Diaby and Wilshere or may be Ramsey can finally get a look in, although i doubt he will.

Huge game this.

Scznznzy
Sagna Djourou Koscielny Clichy
Denilson Diaby Wilshere
Arshavin Bendtner Nasri

although with that lot, Wenger will probably start Bendntner down the left and Arshavin through the middle. :-) That should be enough against Sunderland, especially if Bendtner and Diaby show today's fire

Denilson Diaby Wilshere in midfield sounds like a natural disaster zone to me.

I'd rather start Ramsey.

I'd tend to agree.

Denilson: neat but unimaginative passes and a general lack of commitment
Diaby: loose passes, clumsy tackles, mercurial ball-carrying, confusion
Wilshere: better with a predictable partner

I can see them milling around trying to cover for each other's mistakes, and uncertain of their responsibilities, while lacking the nous to get the ball moving forward quickly when things open up. Meanwhile they won't be organised or committed enough to be effective defensively or on the press.

Yeah, not liking the look of that at all, but even still, if our forwards are efficient, we should be okay. Would so love to see Ramsey playing, but like Rohit, I don't think it will happen this quickly.

Some guy on A-M, keeps on posting the link to this Ramsey compilation in every post he makes, in honour of Aaron's return. It's got me licking my lips in anticipation:

I know this has been said before, but I can't believe we have both Wilshere and Ramsey.
