The only way I will accept this result is if Man City beat Spurs on Saturday. We really need City to recover and win their next two games against our top 4 rivals, no sulking or acting like fucking Wenger. Tonite was their Wayne Bridge moment on crack but need to get over it like we did and go on and win the league. Hopefully this can be a blessing in disguise.

Spurs take their eye off in the league. Two massive games now v Ajax. I wouldn’t be able to take Spurs in the final, a one off game literally anything could happen. We need a committed Ajax to knock them out.

This can go either way for City. They recover and beat Spurs on Monday and United etc to go and win the league. Or it could kill them and both Spurs & United get something and we are in the shit, also this would mean Liverpool win the league.

Spurs will go past Ajax most likely but any of Liverpool - Barca will toy with them in the final.
Hard to say this, but Liverpool might really do the double this year-I think they will kill that slow Barca midfield and poor defence. Klopp is amazing.

Barcelona have by far the best defensive record in the CL. If their defence is poor then what is Liverpool's who have conceded exactly twice as many goals?

Plus they have a bunch of players who won the CL three or four times whereas none of the Liverpool players bar Milner have ever won anything. I'll be surprised if serial bottler Klopp wins anything let alone the double this season.

City will win the league. Barca will take Europe.
Now we need to do our bit. No more horror shows

I truly believe Barca's main weakness are Liverpool's strenghts. Hard pressing in the middle of the park and a direct approche will hurt Barca, bad.

Barcelona in Arthur Busquets and Rakitic have easily the most press resistant midfield in Europe. Their centre backs are also more comfortable passing under pressure than most, I genuinely cant see where you're coming from.

Maybe I'm wrong. We'll see the game. United started the game at Barca at a fast pace and had some great chances early on. Liverpool would have killed them then and there.

Barca are excellent at playing out of, and past, pressure. If Liverpool try to push up and press Barca, they'll open up a lot of space for Messi which would be suicide.

United had some chances but didn't capitalise, just like Porto were all over Pool yesterday had 15 shots before Mane scored with their first attempt. Quality and experience usually prevail in these scenarios and Barcelona have more of both.

The chance of Liverpool knocking out Barca is not negligible. That and the possibility of Spurs also making the final has messed up my mood since yesterday. I almost feel sick whenever I think about it.

At least United are out. No chance of someone finishing 5th, winning the Champions League and taking our spot.

If Spurs get past Ajax, then Son can do anything in a one off final. Ball could bounce off his head. Even John Terry would join them to celebrate.

I’m not worrying yet though. The winner of the other semi should be a heavy favorite. Barca look the best team in Europe. And Pool are not only a dozen points ahead of Spurs, they beat them home and away in the league. So if Spurs even get past Ajax, they still have a mountain to climb.

But anything can happen in a one-off game such as the CL final. Remember Chelsea 2012? Liverpool 2005?

Fuck me, I feel sick at the mere thought.

yeah but mentally, pochettino's spuds are more like wenger's arsenal. so no liverpool 2005 or chelsea 2012 for them. that requires a level of nous and creating your own luck when it matters that's beyond those types. they are in it to ultimately fail.

Wenger's Arsenal could never beat this City side over two legs. Say whatever you want about Spurs but those cunts have resilience.

I know people are trying to apply reason and logic to explain why Spurs won't make it, but if logic prevailed Ajax wouldn't have beat Real Madrid and Juventus and found themselves in the semi finals.

Yeah but then how is logic helping to explain Spurs will make it.

sure wenger's arsenal could do the same. not the 5-1 against bayern vintage, but 2003-09 version could. this city side just like psg has no pedigree, they aren't liverpool, real madrid, bayern, milan ... teams that just know how to get it done in europe and almost feel like it's their birthright to perform.

People twisting their brains into pretzels to justify their pathetic and scaredy cat attitude isn’t it?

It’s the usual suspects, the group of perpetual moaners. Tiresome. Tottenham isn’t winning the champions league. Can’t believe I’ve even had to type that in my lifetime.

Folks are focusing on outlier results like Chelsea and playing them up as the norm. Solid teams like Barca and Liverpool win these tournaments. The Chelsea results are memorable because they’re unexpected
