Even if i hated the guy (erdogan), i would have invited him just to piss off hoeness and that german fa guy whose name i cannot be bothered to remember.
The Ozil Money Pit

"I like how every player is playing and Mesut with his quality is helping us and giving us his work," he said.
"Also individual moments and skills, he has the capacity to help us."
Emery said: "Mesut is playing like we want, with the system and tactically. He is working a lot and after that work he is also giving us his quality."
Crisis over? Yesterday certainly felt like Ozil's most complete performance this season.
I think it cost us by having Ozil and Ramsey out of the starting lineup for such a long period. Hopefully they will stay fit and fresh throughout the remaining games.

Disagree. Leicester at home was his best and most complete performance.
Some reason he likes Monday nights.....
Leicester was his most majestive performance but yesterday his closing down was as good as I've ever seen it. The fact that he combined it with some great link play makes it more complete imo.
I think yesterday is the first time I've looked at his performance and saw a clear sign that Emery has had an impact on his game.
Certainly doesn't feel like we'll be trying to shift him in the summer anymore.
Did not think yesterday’s performance was his best this season by any means. His work rate is much improved, although he still tends to slack off defensively a bit too early for my liking. He is absolutely crucial to our fluidity, creativity and the availability of options in the final third though, even on his not so stellar days. Tactically he seems to be bedding in also like Emery says.
This guy is so, so good when he's not being a dick.
I think Emery has done well with Ozil. He's made him realise he isn't untouchable any more and when he's motivated he's still a good player, not £350k good but we have to make do now.

Yeah I thought the same. We honestly don't need him to produce half fuck performances with 1 assist and everyone keep banking on his assist. I rather he worked hard, make sure we don't play like a man down and get us constantly moving and attacking.
We used to excuse him 2 or 3 years ago and think attacking players don't need to put in a shift but modern football has changed and pretty much every top class player press and attack like they mean it.

Cost us what exactly?
We are a far better team with both Ozil and Ramsey playing at a high level. If we had those two in good nick earlier i am sure we wouldnt have dropped points in some games.
But it appears the manager didn’t deem them ready to play his style of football earlier in the season. I think Emery has a very high bar for when he will let a player get on the field, even when he has glaring needs. Just ask guys like Suarez and AMN, or even Nketiah who could be spelling our strikers more.
As for Ramsey, I also suspect the lack of football has preserved him. He’s prone to breakdowns (as we are seeing in recent weeks). Emery has done a much better job than Wenger of using him lightly.
Resting and protecting players by falling out with them? We might be attributing to brilliance what is better explained by bumbling.
But that both of these guys, who were complaining and out of sorts earlier in the season, are playing well for us now is interesting.
It's a shame Ramsey is set on leaving. It'd be nice to see a player of his ilk not sell out.

We withdrew his contract. Not even after mid-season window.

and emery wouldn't have the respect of his squad and let everyone know he can be walked over. he handled them the way they needed to be handled.
They are playing well now because our manager plays them when they deserved it. When they are out of form they sit on the bench. It's all by merit.

100% this. No way Ozil would be in his current form if he'd been molly coddled the way Wenger did with him.

It's his fault, not ours. He would have been rich enough. Now he can fuck off to watch his new teammates get racially abused by the home fans.
There have been few occasions when I haven't been inclined to mostly take the club's side on this kind of thing.

Agreed - off topic as such but despite all the positive posts Rambo is only rated as our 17th best player this season.
Mate do yourself a favour and stop frequenting that website so much. You live on the wrong side of the planet and cant watch the matches live fair enough but consulting whoscored is genuinely worse than simply checking livescore for the result. It lists Mustafi and Cech in our top 7 ffs
