I had no idea about his past, his many kids and extra-marital affairs. Literally just read up on it.

I assume most people respect women regardless of their work. But perhaps with actors we can assume the opposite. Or do you think most men disrespect women? That's a serious question not intended to stoke up tension.

I really liked Freeman because of those qualities you mention...

Even though I've been subjected to a range of sexual harassment over the years, from minor to disturbing, it's not been my immediate experience that most men disrespect women.
I would say that the majority of men that I know are decent.
That could be because I am lucky with my family and can sense and spot a creep within seconds.

That interview with the cast of arrested development was worrying as well. Jason Bateman has since apologised for it. Not a good look for him or his male co-stars though

Hopefully this is the right place to post this. Dont think this has gotten the publicity it deserves. Steve Penny, former president of USA Gymnastics, is now arrested charged with tampering and destroying evidence in the Larry Nassar case, validating what the athletes have said about being forced to silence at every turn and on every level. This USA gymnastics dynasty of the last decade has truly turned out to be one the most despicable sports organizations of modern times willing to walk over bodies to stay in the Olympic win column.

Even if what is being reported about Tyson is true, is making somewhat creepy advances really reason enough to publicly shame someone as a 'predator'? Surely we can find ways to deal with this type of thing without mock trials in the media. I'm embarrassed for all parties when I read these stories.

Well its not like he raped anyone but if you are a creep you don't have any right to have that kept a secret.

Yes but I do see where Gurgen is coming from. As it is there's little difference in the public eye between someone who's accused of being a creep or an actual rapist

Why not? In the Netherlands you even have the right to keep your last name a secret if you're accused of murder.

Agree that there's an ocean of difference between these allegations and sexual assault. Tyson has been accused of rape too for what it's worth though, which I think is partly why these new allegations emerged and gained traction.

I don't think people see Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein in the same light as Ben Affleck or Morgan Freeman.

It sure has, but I don't think this is evidence of that. Martin Solveig probably went rogue, he doesn't have anything to do with football as far as I know.

We're talking about the inaugural women's winner of the Ballon d'Or.

The people running the ceremony are capable of exercising a great degree of control over the tone and messaging on stage. They clearly didn't think about it. Generally these sorts of details are considered even for minor events.

Hundred percent.

Harvey Weinstein has been found guilty on third-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act.

In better news for Harvey Weinstein, for a few months having to come into court using a Four Wheel Walker he seems to have miraculously recovered and walked out of court.
