We should make him play in the mask. Welcome Sead.
Arsenal sign Sead Kolasinac

You'd have to think he's been signed to play wing back rather than any other position.
I think that's most likely too. It's more my preference for a more attack minded, more midfielder than defender type to play in that wingback role.
Could use him in the Sagna role as the out ball for goalkicks. If only Cech could actually kick reliably.

Its a pity we don't have a left sided Ox type to rotate with him. I really like the idea of having Ox and Bellerin to rotate on the right because it allows you to play Ox against weaker sides and Bellerin when we need more of a defensive balance. Kolasinac appears more like a Monreal type, good passing, good defensively, more aggressive than Monreal but I think functionally similar.
Ivanovic is a good shout. This type of defenders doesn't seem that great in attack but always chips in key assist and goals.
Decent signing for free, even considering his 140k per week wage.
Not overly impressed of what I've seen, but I guess he must have done something right to get in the Bundesliga team of the season.

Agree with the comparison. He's better on the ball than he looks
Not sure about the 140k wages, he probably didn't even get a third of that at Schalke. Probably on less here even counting in the sign on fee
The £140k is midleading as it's likely to be a basic of ££80k with the remainder being his inflated signing bonus paid at £60k per week, or something along those lines. I'm sure Sol Campbell's headline £100k which seemed massive at the time was structured in much the same way.

Quite a few stories around that Newcatle/Benitez are willing to meet our £15m valuation.
i will believe that price when someone actually signs him for that much... lol... sorry, i just dont see it.. stories are, well, just stories. nothing i see in that link says benitez is ready to spend $15mil on Gibbs...
Is it seed or shaud or what

cy-ed (or cy-et).. thats how it sounded when he pronounced it....
This is amazing business from the club. Kolasinac is not the kind of player I would have been looking to blow a lot of cash on this summer considering our dearth of attacking top quality, but on a free it's a perfect deal. He'll plug a big gap in the squad too that was made obvious by the shift in formation.
Really hope we can keep this up and not stop pushing hard for transfers just because we've gotten a small percentage of the job done.

Also had a hard 'c' on Kolasinac which I wasn't expecting.
He can play wing back and also the left side of a back three, 140k per week is a lot but considering you've probably saved an estimated £10m to £12m in a fee, the higher wages were inevitable.
Has Wenger said anything regarding the player yet?
Not yet. He's preoccupied with trying to sign Mbappe.
Good article from the official Bundesliga site on our new boy. Also a couple of videos where you can hear the commentator pronounce his name, if you're struggling with it.
Shades of Sagna, good by me
"The famous combative traits of the brick-built full-back have always been evident, and the man nicknamed 'The Bulldozer' by Bosnia-Herzegovina fans and called "a tree" by former Schalke boss Jens Keller has lost none of his formidable physique and presence."
Santos could've passed for those nicknames easily too. Lol.
It's pronounced Chad Koloshowercurtain
http://video.sport1.de/video/so-spricht-man-kolasinac-richtig-aus__0_0pgh4hyk (first time is the 'correct' one)
He actually mispronounces his own name though. His name in his native language is Сеад Колашинац which is roughly pronounced as cay-att kolashinats, which sounds a little weird in German. Not that uncommon that people change the pronunciation of their name and his version probably sounds more pleasing to German ears
