Finally been announced.
We'll have to see exactly where he's going to play but I've read a lot of good things about him. Getting in the Bundesliga Team of the Season is nothing to be sniffed at either. From the bits I've managed to see of him he reminds me of Branislav Ivanović in his style of play. Very aggressive in everything he does but a better footballer than he might appear at first glance.

Looks strong and seems to know how to cross. Has variation to his crossing, which is always an encouraging sign. Let's see how long it takes for him before he starts hitting the first man or puts it out for a throw-in on the other side. :boris:
Jeez, they've not done much of a spread on the bloke have they? 
Seems like a solid enough signing. Strikes me as Sagna type, but hopefully a big more aggressive going forward with a better final ball.
Looks like a strong sturdy runner type with a decent cross on him. Different from your typical wenger fullback

I think left back is probably his best position, but he has played and excelled all season at left wingback - 3 goals and 5 assists in the Bundesliga alone is impressive and I remember he also got 2 assists in a Europa League quarter final against Ajax just when I started keeping an eye on him after we were linked. I'd say he's functional going forward - his technique actually looks solid - but if we're going to play 3-4-3, I reckon he could be a real option as the left sided centreback, where Monreal has been playing. He looks made for that role to me.
Looks mean. Good start this. Hope we have more to come before preseason starts.

Hope he flicks Gibbs out the club. Looks full of testosterone and shouldn't be bullied.

lol.. this would be a great start to the summer. sadly, i highly doubt we'll get that much for gibbo... i see him going for more like 7m or 8m....
Interested to see how he gets on. Seems to commit a lot of fouls so I'm not sure he'll be much of a Tolly favourite.
You'd have to think he's been signed to play wing back rather than any other position.

Excited to see this guy for us. Looks like a Lauren/Ivanovic type fullback. Lets hope he can reach the same level.

Quite a few stories around that Newcatle/Benitez are willing to meet our £15m valuation.
