Arsenal sign Sead Kolasinac

If he turns out to be shit, we'll know what to call him. No problems there.

Why, Est?

Heh. Arsenal Gentleman will probably go with something similar - Sean Kendall-Smythe perhaps.

Classic Dools
It'll be either "Kolashinats", or "Kolashinach", or at the outside something like "Kowashinats", it's not rocket science.
Reckon you'd rather be stuck with any Slavic language than English in a pronunciation contest.
At least he's not called Featherstonehaugh, you know what I'm saying?

it's none of the above, check out the qwiss video.
Right, so it's exactly phonetic for an anglophone after all, how challenging! :brow:
Problem was with sead.
Boss - Kolasinac has all the ingredients
He may be a new face to many Arsenal fans, but Arsène Wenger has been following Sead Kolasinac for “a long time”.
The Bosnia international has become our first signing of the summer and his new manager is confident that he will quickly adapt to Premier League football.

“He’s very compact as a player, very strong and determined in the challenges,” Wenger told Arsenal Player. “He’s good in the air as well, so overall I believe he has all the attributes to adapt to English football
“The game here is very demanding physically on the commitment front and he has the ingredients to adapt to that.
“What he will give us is the fact that he’s a player who can give assists, who can go forward, who can contribute good crosses.
“It’s very important that we have that as well, because we have Kieran Gibbs, we have Nacho Monreal and we have him. But Nacho plays a lot now in central defence and in a three-man system I see him in there.
“So overall, I think [Kolasinac] can contribute a lot to help us to be more dangerous going forward.”

Sounds like Nacho is now a centre back.
As he should be. He's been a liability as a fullback for some time, but the CB role can extend his time here.
I think it's the other way around. In a 4-man defense, he was a liability at FB, but in a 3-man defense, he was excellent at getting forward and intelligently picking out people or even getting to the back post (first goal in the FA Cup SF against Man City). Good thing is that Wenger sees the 3-man defense continuing, but Monreal and Kolasinac would be great rotation at LWB, which is a position which requires significant rotation anyway and hence, 2 players of similar calibre.
Yeah, his tendency to let in crosses is certainly not as much a problem with the new formation. I still think CB is his better position for now. His height isn't as exposed as much as it was when he played CB in a 4-man defence. He isn't that different from Azpilicueta actually. I haven't seen Kolasinac much, but it sounds like he can step in at CB if needed, just like Monreal can step in at LWB.
His LB experience neutralised Hazard in the cup final as he was comfortable when dragged wide to cover Chambo.
If we're gonna play a 3-man defence next season I'd like us to give Koscielny, Holding and Monreal a proper go at the back.
Mustafi is going to be our most played CB next season unless he suffers a major injury.
