Funny, I was listening to Entertainment just the other day. As we were talking about a few months back, it was actually Massive Attack who pointed me towards PIL, Gang of Four, even the Clash I think, as well as Wire.
I do think there's a bit more going on with Fontaines though, of course they are derivative, but I think their background as a poetry collective give them a different, hell, more romantic angle on things. Amusingly, of course Starburster absolutely went off as it closed the night out, but the ballad In the Modern World got just as much of a reaction - 10,000 people bellowing along with Grian.
All in all a great night, although I had to spend the first three songs fighting my way back to my own gang of four. Nick Cave was better though.
