• The Arsenal
  • West Brom at home sometime over Christmas I dunno

That header was a beaut by Giroud. A great amount of thought went into placing that what with Foster there being a game raising git again.

Only one way to get match fit though. I think they both could have used more than 15-20 minutes today. That way it would be a smaller change if we need to start them against Palace too.

I think Perez must be very close. Not sure on Ramsey, he's been so in and out I'd still take it slow I think.

Yeah, Perez is the one I'd start too next week. I thought Iwobi was decent today but there's not enough zip when he goes forward. Every time we've played Lucas he has made those runs down to the goal line. Cambo is the only other player who does it consistently but I don't think he's as accomlished.

I think Iwobi offered us a lot today but he still lacks a bit of end product to play regularly. He is very good against these stacked defences though as he moves constantly and finds little pockets to get into that allow us keep the ball moving in the final 3rd. Sometimes when you have Ox and Theo instead they wont find that sort of space and we become static.

Anyway it really annoys me that we finally started Giroud and we didin't cross enough, especially in the first half where we keep passing back to the central areas while last few weeks we kept crossing to Alexis.

Also surprised Gibbs got taken off, thought he had a good game but that's Wenger's usual tactic, to take off one fullback.

Iwobi is fine if you want possession, we had 75+%, but I think he does slow our game down and doesn't provide much width. So with him slightly off form, you end up with possession for the sake of possession and little advantage directly from him.

Make or break time for Perez's first season. He may even be rolled out "like a new signing" this week by the boss man 😆

Lucas looks good. Moves well, is direct yet intelligent with his play

Gibbs was injured. Took a big blow to his knee.

That was some goal from olly G, mad strength to hold of the defender and a peach of a header

I think he does the opposite.

Think a lot of our attacks down the wings broke down because of Gibbs. He is not dynamic enough with his running, passing or crossing.

Game was tailor made for Montreal as there was no pacy threat in behind for us to worry about

I like Iwobi but he's still not back to where he was a few months ago confidence wise, and many times he's too timid.
He has what it takes to do it all in the final third, but he hesitates too much now in terms of bursting in etc. At this time I actually prefer the Ox,
but I expect Iwobi to improve a lot. Today I thought he was subbed too late...

3 pts. Clean sheet. all we needed.

Want to see this next time out

-----------Giroud
--Alexis---Ozil---Lucas
------Xhaka--Ramsey

So many players wanting the ball at feet but few willing to thrust at the heart of the west Brom defence and make driving runs apart from Sanchez. He really is the heart of this team and we are screwed if he doesn't sign a new contract. He was pretty much playing as a number 10 today. Xhaka is starting to look a lot fitter and sharper with the ball. I really have high hopes for him in the second half of the season. Ramsey proving once again what a lousy technician he is with that wasted chance in injury time.

Ok at home against a deep sitting defence but otherwise Sanchez should be leading line.

Despite our struggles to break Brom down, we rarely wasted possession and everybody looked comfortable on the ball. Possession game immediately suffers once you introduce Ramsey in there even if he compensates for some of the loss with his driving runs.

We lose absolutely nothing offensively when Ramsey comes on for Coquelin. Come on now.

This is the opposite of what we should do against a deep sitting defence. Fuck this inverted winger shit. We need width.

Bingo!
The worst aspect of yesterday's game was Alexis on the left and Iwobi on the right.
They had a flat back 10 and these guys were adding more bodies into an already congested central area.

Kicked off big time between Gabriel and Lucas at the end. Gabriel furious with Perez for not tracking back. Carried on into tunnel.

I remember the play, it was after we scored. WBA attacked down the right and Lucas was just walking back...not one care in the world.

Good on Gabriel.

Twas one of the things I noticed during the game, Lucas looked lackadaisical with his pressing, which I thought was strange considering he had the fresh pegs. 100% Effort is the minimum you should give when coming off the bench especially for someone trying to force his way into the first team.

Say what you want about a player like Welbeck,(and I usually do) but you don't see that type of shit from him. You see other types of shit.

Until our players begin to hold one another accountable this team isn't going to go anywhere.
