Ok at home against a deep sitting defence but otherwise Sanchez should be leading line.

Despite our struggles to break Brom down, we rarely wasted possession and everybody looked comfortable on the ball. Possession game immediately suffers once you introduce Ramsey in there even if he compensates for some of the loss with his driving runs.

This is the opposite of what we should do against a deep sitting defence. Fuck this inverted winger shit. We need width.

The width comes from the fullbacks.

Kicked off big time between Gabriel and Lucas at the end. Gabriel furious with Perez for not tracking back. Carried on into tunnel.

I remember the play, it was after we scored. WBA attacked down the right and Lucas was just walking back...not one care in the world.

Yeah I saw Perez going on a walkabout after we scored leaving Brom to outnumber us down the right. I don't mind players holding each other accountable as long as it doesn't lead to disharmony. It's not good if they are having it out all the way into the tunnel. A lot of the problems originate from the training pitch and Wenger's philosophy. After 1-0 the game became a bit too open and end to end for me. We had some good counters to add a second and wasted it.

I missed that but if thats going on with Perez then Wenger wont use him wide and he's going to struggle to get his game up top with Sanchez and Giroud ahead of him.

Think a lot of our attacks down the wings broke down because of Gibbs. He is not dynamic enough with his running, passing or crossing.

Game was tailor made for Montreal as there was no pacy threat in behind for us to worry about

I completely disagree with this. I thought Gibbs had a really good game and we became much more pedestrian down the wing once Monreal came on.

Don't recall him getting a single accurate/dangerous cross in.

The best run he had ended in an injury.

Gabriel is always so vocal when it comes to these. He was shouting non-stop against City as well to ask our players to work harder.

Wenger said it was okay afterwards so I supposed Gabriel has got his point across well.

Is it really Gabriel's job to be giving this dress down?
Is it a non-issue as they are fringe players?
Does it only happen between players who are close pals as i remember BFG appearing to admonish Ozil a few years back?
Is this task a team directive?
If so, isn't it incumbent on the coaches or manager himself to wield the stick?
Why are there no boxing matches scheduled on boxing day?

You've never had a row with a team mate during or just after a game?

Anyway it really annoys me that we finally started Giroud and we didin't cross enough, especially in the first half where we keep passing back to the central areas while last few weeks we kept crossing to Alexis.

Also surprised Gibbs got taken off, thought he had a good game but that's Wenger's usual tactic, to take off one fullback.

There were crosses into the box when the opportunity presented itself alright, Giroud and Bellerin got to the end of quite a few. There is this misconception that you simply load the box with crosses when you have a big target man up front but it doesn't always work like that in reality, especially against a team that had decent height at the back and often outnumbered Giroud. In regular play you need more than one aerial threat to occupy defenders and make it work and we didn't have this. Giroud also wasn't always in the box because West Brom kept a good line and shape. They were always ready to deal with the aerial balls and it's no surprise that it took a bit of a wrestling match for Giroud to get to the end of the header for the goal. We created 2-3 clear opportunities to win the game before that. Perez also whipped in a decent low cross and nobody attacked it.

So many questions, so few answers.

Didn't get to see the game, but watched the extended highlights. Looked like we were all over them. Sanchez created a lot, but was wasteful, Lucas seems to have a very good final ball.
