That big club thing is just a standard turn of phrase.

Not sure what he's trying to get at with that Henry thing, does he think he can come back and be respected the way Henry is?

Imo it's probably his PR team that wrote that.

I doubt Alexis himself is the sort of person that cares either way but no doubt being hated by a bunch of fans can't be good for his 'brand'.

The big club thing is standard PR agent speak to his new fans just like the Manc reject we got saying he always supported Arsenal and it's his dream come true which is what he also said when he joined Dortmund and again when he joined United.

I reckon most people care to be honest, no one wants to be hated. You can tell by how bitter former players become when they get a bad reception, see Ade, Nasri etc. Even van Persie cracked after initially trying to ride it out.

Henry must have been getting some abuse on social media as he's just posted this on Twitter (apologies couldn't see how to embed the tweet):
