£35 -> £45m is actually a massive gap...

depends on if it's coming out of your bank accounts or if you're just sitting in your mum's den typing away about hypothetical transfers. 🙂

He's not for sale ffs. Stop overrating him, getting embarrassing.

Romagnoli is one of the best defensive prospects to come out of Italy in years, this is not an outrageous fee.

Such elegance and leadership already. Bound for greatness.

Rugani will be a better defender.

You should watch some of Milan's game last season.

Wenger has said this morning that Chambo will go out on loan. With Jenko a crock it looks like Debuchy is staying put for now.

You can't pick Debuchy on the Arsenal kit builder for whatever reason.

He's too shit. Nobody would want him on their kit.

what about his family and friends?

They'd rather Bellerin.

Is this guy actually that good?

Some of my Arsenal supporting friends say £35m is too much for the lad and despite having a good Euro's, he did not exactly set the world on fire at Valencia in a team that leaked in a lot of goals (I know that all can't be down to him).

Is his potential greater or less than Kos or a younger Per?

He's better than Kos was at that age. I think £35m makes neither Valencia nor Arsenal losers in this deal.

Sky stuck up this comparison chart of Mustafi and Mert earlier:

Looks promising.

Close to 30% premium so yes it is.

My be stereotyping but the Italian slow pace is very different to the English league and I'm not sure how well those guys would settle into a back 4 with the way we play, Wenger has never got an Italian CB and maybe there is a reason behind that.

Feels like for the first time we actually caved in and paid what was asked. £35m is probably a little bit steep, but his original price was about £25m anyway.

Original price? Stones sold for a shitload, Mangala and David Luiz a few years back too. £35m for a 24 year old German international with the pedigree of Mustafi seems more than fair enough. I don't for a second think they were ever entertaining selling him at 25m.

I doubt they entered this summer thinking they will actually get £35m for him. Our circumstances definitely raised the price by couple of million.
