Prices change 'everyday' Rex. You can ask in June and the club may ask for 10 mill and in August he may go for 30 and vice versa. While certain players have say a benchmark price, but for most others it literally could be anything. I don't think it is silly to suggest mustafi could have commanded anything between 20-45 million this summer.
Though saying we could have had him for 21 million in june (as some reports suggest) is a bit of a hindsight
