We have added players to our spine. Xhaka and Mustafi can be considered proper upgrades going by their strengths and qualities they have shown at various levels. Perez is an unknown quantity. He could be a revelation, hopefully is.

What a day. Good to see Wenger paying over what he values a player at for once and just getting it done. I think he realised that he doesn't really have a choice. Anyone costing less is going to be sub standard.

Most of us wishlisted a top CB, a top DM and a top striker. We have achieved the first 2 and the latter isn't bad anyway even though it's a big gamble at least it's better than nothing.

I'm quite excited by the potential partnership between this guy and Koscielny, especially since they have a solid group of midfielders in front of them. At the very least, we should be hard to beat if we can field these guys in most games.

Best part about it that we won't have to worry about Per's pace and can play offensive and dominating football because both Kos and Mustafi can hold their own on possible counterattacks by the opposition.

Most excitited I've been for a long time about the team, especially given the profile a player like Perez also has. We've finally more or less filled all needs, and can enjoy the season.

Lovely stuff, Wenger.

Some concerns over his physical stature, especially as he'll be new to the league but that said he looks a clever play who can read the game well.

I'm sure he'll be alright. He's a lot bigger than someone like Ashley Williams and he copes well in this League.

Agreed though i will wait till pen is put to paper before thanking Liverpool and wait till the players prove their worth before praising the club.

If somebody told me we would spend £90m on 4 players, and the four turned out to be Xhaka Mustafi Perez and Holding, I'd say I was somewhat disappointed. Saying that, we've got the positions we needed and our squad depth is now superb.

We're in a position now whereby if 3 key players got injured, we'd still be okay.

If we had spent £90m 3 years ago we would have won a lot more and still has the cash to go for players now. Wenger the master economist didn't account for inflation, true genius.

I think if Gabby leaves next season, we might look to buy another CB. Assuming Chambers is gonna do his development elsewhere.
