From what I can gather Valencia have been pretty adamant about wanting the full €50m for Mustafi. That is a lot of money for him when you consider the likes of Manolas might be available for similar.

Not just us, look at Chelsea they too are struggling to agree a deal for a CB and CF and they are more than happy to pay over the odds.

Problem for us is deeper than Chelsea with regards to what they want. For us it is desperately needed. I'm sure if they were in our position they would pay a lot more than we are offering for Mustafi.

If somebody told me we would spend £90m on 4 players, and the four turned out to be Xhaka Mustafi Perez and Holding, I'd say I was somewhat disappointed. Saying that, we've got the positions we needed and our squad depth is now superb.

We're in a position now whereby if 3 key players got injured, we'd still be okay.

We have got decent quality in depth around Sanchez and Ozil now. All on Wenger to get the team functioning together and keep our only 2 proven world class players in attack fit.

We're going to deadline.
