😆 No matter what Mourinho does you will now defend it in order to be right.

Cuntish thing to do to Schweinsteiger.

Wrong.

If he has a foul mouthed outburst post match where he blames everyone else rather than accept responsibility for a loss, let's say, against Man City's Pep where United lose 4-0 in embarrassing fashion... Or if he say's something against gays/women for example, as seen in the Eva case, then he'll be a cunt again. He's prone to have a minor outburst, which every manager is post match.. but a major outburst? I'll be wrong about him.

Telling a player he's surplus to requirements is what all managers do, like I say sour grapes.

When Wenger first joined us, he demoted Merson from the first team and ultimately sold him. So what? It's the managers choice who they buy/sell and if Jose doesn't want Bastian to train with the first team is it not his choice?

Yeah at Chelsea X2 and Real. But you said everyone realises he's a cunt and that's why he doesn't last. That's not the case. It's the case for 2 clubs, not at the other 3.

6 months or not, he didn't get booted out.

What you forget, Savz, is that he is dealing with people. When he does a thing like this to a man as respected in the game as Schweinsteiger is, it affects the other players. A football team is usually a fairly tight knit group, and doing something like this has an emotional impact on the other players.
This is just one thing; in itself it will mean nothing for Moron. However, Moron has a habit of over time stacking up these incidents which emotionally impact the players. As a member of a group like that, these incidents aren't seen as isolated, but rather have an accumulative effect. Sooner rather than later, about two seasons in Moron's case, the players can't stand him anymore.

Merson wasn't demoted immediately, he played plenty of games but was ultimately sold by the end of Wenger's first season. In other words, he was given a chance.

My point is that everyone eventually gets tired of him. So the time frame matters.

Obviously 'everyone' is hyperbole, I'm sure he still has people who supported him both at Chelsea and Madrid but I can't think of any modern manager that has clashed with his clubs as much as Mourinho has.

Jose doesn't want to give Bastian a chance.

I asked earlier, isn't it Jose choice who he plays who he sells and who he buys? He's the man in charge...

How is there a respectful way of telling somebody they should look for a new club? Jose didn't come out and say anything about this, Bastian's brother made it a public thing by tweeting what he did.

Of course, but the man in charge has a history where these kind of decisions have led to fractious consequences therefore it is appropriate to comment on a trend. Schweinsteiger's brother shouldn't have come out and said what he did but it is indicative of how his team and no doubt some other players would feel (Hi, Juan Mata!).

In fact, I have a sneaky suspicion that this might be Mourinho 'sending a message' to the rest of his squad. Which is fine, obviously, it's his style and it has led to success but it's not often led to long term loyalty from most of his players.

Couple of good points Rex, however, he has only just arrived at Old Trafford and is doing what is in the interest of the club to build the best team possible, keeping Bastian on just for the sake of it

Had he become manager and then 12 months later he's sold an important member of the team (Like he did with Mata at Chelsea, who was player of the year two years running prior to Jose joining) then that'll be in quite poor taste and yeah it'll probably not be the best thing to do for team morale and all of that. But he's just arrived and he's doing what he thinks is right. How can anyone judge him. Doubt any of the players really really care that much about Bastian because it's Jose who's calling the shots and he's the most uplifting manager ever.

I just can't see players like Rashford/Shaw/Smalling or whoever, sitting at home and bad mouthing Jose for deciding to sell Bastian. This decision isn't going to be spoken about in 12 months. Players won't want to leave because of Jose's treatment of Schweinstiger lol. In fact I actually think they'll wish him well for the future, maybe have a get together if he leaves but when they go back to the training pitch it's business as usual, full trust in Jose because he's moulding the team to his ideology and if a player doesn't fit then he doesn't fit.... Bastian isn't nearly as important as people are making out. It's nostalgia.

you don't understand what I'm saying. Selling a player is one thing, but humiliating a seasoned veteran and football legend like Schweinsteiger by making him train with the reserves is quite another. It's just a dick thing to do, and the next time Moron does a dick thing, the players will remember this incident as well. It's just how people work. Add enough incidents, and many players will grow to dislike Moron. This isn't new; we have seen this with Moron before.

Savz, are you Mourinho in disguise?

I did understand what you said in the first post. You spoke about players remembering the managers actions in a negative light. But that's an assumption. I would be joyed to see Bastian go. It shows Jose knows who's ready and who's not, and it's clear as day Bastian is no longer the player he was.
Jose isn't here to be sentimental, he's hear to attack the league. I'd be pumped - I'm not even kidding. I'd hope Schweinstiger finds a good club but this saga would show Jose is only accepting of the best players.

lol. No.

In a tight knit group you form strong bonds. There are 100 percent a few important first team Man U players right now who are uncomfortable with seeing a mate being treated this way. They won't say anything, because this is the first 'Moron being Moron' incident. When these incidents accumulate, and I'm positive they will, being uncomfortable will turn to dislike. It is all very basic, really. Wenger, as a contrast, has never, and will never, lose a dressing room; they way he treats his players won't allow for it.

Here?

City shaping up well.

-----------Aguero
-Nolito--DeBruyne-Sane
----Gundogan--Silva

Silva is as much a CM as Ozil is, in my opinion. Surely he will start at RW and Sane/Nolito will rotate.

The way things are at the moment, I still recon we have the best first eleven in the league
