What you forget, Savz, is that he is dealing with people. When he does a thing like this to a man as respected in the game as Schweinsteiger is, it affects the other players. A football team is usually a fairly tight knit group, and doing something like this has an emotional impact on the other players.
This is just one thing; in itself it will mean nothing for Moron. However, Moron has a habit of over time stacking up these incidents which emotionally impact the players. As a member of a group like that, these incidents aren't seen as isolated, but rather have an accumulative effect. Sooner rather than later, about two seasons in Moron's case, the players can't stand him anymore.
Couple of good points Rex, however, he has only just arrived at Old Trafford and is doing what is in the interest of the club to build the best team possible, keeping Bastian on just for the sake of it
Had he become manager and then 12 months later he's sold an important member of the team (Like he did with Mata at Chelsea, who was player of the year two years running prior to Jose joining) then that'll be in quite poor taste and yeah it'll probably not be the best thing to do for team morale and all of that. But he's just arrived and he's doing what he thinks is right. How can anyone judge him. Doubt any of the players really really care that much about Bastian because it's Jose who's calling the shots and he's the most uplifting manager ever.
I just can't see players like Rashford/Shaw/Smalling or whoever, sitting at home and bad mouthing Jose for deciding to sell Bastian. This decision isn't going to be spoken about in 12 months. Players won't want to leave because of Jose's treatment of Schweinstiger lol. In fact I actually think they'll wish him well for the future, maybe have a get together if he leaves but when they go back to the training pitch it's business as usual, full trust in Jose because he's moulding the team to his ideology and if a player doesn't fit then he doesn't fit.... Bastian isn't nearly as important as people are making out. It's nostalgia.
