No point.....Everyone knows that Mourinho is a better manager than Wenger both tactically and motivation wise in almost every way in fact except saving the owner money and I don't care about that.
Premier League 2016/2017
Sendoffs for surrounding the referee and dissent are coming through:
Too bad they'll still allow violent thuggery. Ref usually deserves being surrounded in this league.
Coombs wrote:Too bad they'll still allow violent thuggery. Ref usually deserves being surrounded in this league.
That doesn't make any sense, you seem to be criticising referees for allowing "violent thuggery" without giving any example of this and in the second part of the sentence you seem to be advocating intimidating them.
Very contradictory.
Being a ref is a hard job.
Not giving an example isn't not making sense.
There's certainly a fair bit of dangerous play in the Premier League.
Being a ref isn't that hard a job, at the end of the day you get away with missing calls so long as you don't fuck up worse than all the other refs.
For me the bugbear is still diving though, they need to bring in retrospective sanctions based on video for that.

Oh you've reffed some games Burnsy, do share.
Jose on Pogba:
"I don't confirm and I don't deny," said United boss Jose Mourinho. "I cannot tell you."
"I don't think it is correct to speak about players of other clubs. My directors did a fantastic work to do 75% of the job I ask them to do. I gave them a few options. We have just 25% to do until 31 August.
"We are in great conditions and we are powerful in the markets. We are calm. We have three faces to fill the profile. I am confident Mr Woodward will get the player we need to get a good balance. It's quite close but not yet."
Pogba's done.

I have actuallyโI used to ref interschool lightning carnivals regularly.
But either way, I gave my reasoning above. Being a ref isn't an impossible task because you're only judged relative to your peers.
Not impossible but a hard job, and you're judged whether you got the call correct or not.
And in the case of a collision in the penalty area there are three possibilities-
- Penalty
- Dive
- Play on
And this decision has to be taken in real time.
You're not listening to what I'm saying.
It's like saying being an oncologist's a "hard job" because sometimes there's nothing you can do, and your patients die. No one's going to judge an oncologist just because a few of their patients don't make itโthey'll compare them to other oncologists.
So the matter of the work is hard, but the judgements of others are tempered.
Being a ref is a hard job.

Players complaining is obviously not the biggest problem with refereeing in football, if it even really is a problem. Last thing on the list done first as usual.

Didn't quite come out the way I wanted.
You can see some of Pep's philosophy already.
Chelsea making some serious investment in an already decent squad.
Kante
Batshuayi
- actively looking at CB's like Koulibaly and CF's like Morata
With Conte at helm i think they are gonna be a force to reckon with.
They'll need to do a lot more to become a force. Kante is a serious addition but Batshuayi is just a back up for Costa, not really a big deal signing.

Delph says he has learnt more in 3 weeks with pep than his entire career and he might play CB.
Would really have wished to see Pep managing Arsenal and what he will do to some of our players.
Why does Biggus have a line through his name, I hope he hasn't been banned.
Nice turn and strike by Ross. Always liked him, such a powerful runner and has that magic in him.

Looking forward to this.
Pep is a revolutionary manager. The same way Wenger was we signed him all those years back.
I fear City will dominate English football under his guidance.

I hope at one point someone breaks the tiki-taka code on a consistent basis. Amazing how Pep transformed the fluid artistic style of total football into a mechanical modular machine. It works and it's often beautiful but it can also be very grating.
Couple rule changes for next season:
The ball can be passed backwards when kicking off.
Players may only receive a yellow card if they concede a penalty. Previously it was an automatic red card if someone denies a goals scoring opportunity, even if it's accidental. That was deemed too harsh, so they made a slight tweak.
Players will be able to receive treatment quickly on the pitch if they are injured in a challenge that results in a yellow or red card, no longer have to leave the field.
Penalty change - Feinting once the run-up is complete will result in a yellow card for the taker.
If play is stopped due to interference from a team official or substitute (Diego Simeone's backroom staff throwing a ball onto the pitch) Instead of an indirect free-kick or drop ball, the referee will now award a penalty kick to the opposition.
Savz wrote:Players may only receive a yellow card if they concede a penalty.
So if you're on the goal line you may as well save it with your hands (ala Suarez in the World Cup). Good rule change but there should be exceptions to minimise abuse.
Are you serious? FFS mate. Previously it was an automatic red card if someone denies a goals scoring opportunity, even if it's accidental. That was deemed too harsh, so they made a slight tweak.
If a player dives like a prime Buffon and saves it with both hands, they won't just get a yellow card, lmfao.
Why not? According to your post the new rule is supposedly penalty = no red card.
Oh, and I've warned you before, stop acting like a superior dick towards your fellow forum posters or you won't be around here much longer. There wouldn't be many tears if I banned you right now.
Did you really think the new rule was a penalty is now only a yellow card and nothing more? - Serious question.
I ask as I placed the word MAY in my sentence. Had it been: "Players will now only receive a yellow card if they concede a penalty"... Then that would have been badly written.
Right, well right after the word "may" you placed the word "only", which suggests that they can "only" get a yellow if they concede a penalty, i.e. no red. Can be taken both ways especially when you didn't add anything about denying goal-scoring opportunities.
Anyway, moving on. The rule is pretty much as I stated.
The same changes that were applied at the Euros, no?
Yeah it is, nothing new.

Denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity and causing a penalty are two different things.

If you remove the highlighted parts of your post it becomes a normal post by a normal person. Please try to remain normal in future Savz.
Apparently Schweinsteiger has been told, on his birthday, to clear out his lockers because he will now be training with the reserves.
Mou gonna Mou despite what Savz thinks.
Hahahahaha. What a heartless cunt. I respect his accomplishments, but he really has no humanity. At least Schweinsteiger gets to go home to Ana. That should soften the blow

I've always said he will change his foolish, outlandish, and generally embarrassing behaviour as he'll have more respect at Old Trafford than anywhere before.
Sending a player to the reserves isn't bad, he doesn't want him then so be it.
Has he said anything publicly which damages his reputation or makes Bastian out to be a bad seed or maybe like.. a bad characters etc? I haven't seen anything yet. Only Bastian's brother coming out and tweeting "no respect".
Januzaj is set to be sold this summer, is that Mourinho being a dick for not letting him had at least a season under his guidance? Is it fuck. Jose is there to forge the best, most competitive side possible and that's what he'll do. Bastian has been a good experienced head, but his legs went a long time ago.
Sour grapes, that's all.
This is why Mourinho never lasts more than 3 years. At some point every one realises he's a massive twat to work with.
That wasn't the case at Uniao de Leiria, Porto and Inter.
But it was the case at Chelsea x 2 and Madrid. He didn't stay as long at Inter or Porto.
We could dissect his time at each club in detail but the overall trend is that he does fall out with his players more than most managers and that causes friction over the course of a few seasons.
Edit: He was at Uniao de Leiria for 6 months. It's almost irrelevant.
