Surely there's no chance Vardy turns this down? 29, only chance to sign for a big club.
Jamie Vardy
i know i know, stats dont matter, your eye test is the perfect evaluator of all talent in all leagues, i get it

It's like when Ferguson signed RVP. Wenger said he knew at that point he was going to retire at the end of the season.
I feel the same.
Not necessarily just because of this signing, but the last few years our transfer policy has hinted towards a plan to achieve immediate success.
I am genuinely stunned that Kane hasn't won the total shots contest, fucker shoots from everywhere.

Gabriel, Chambers, Welbeck, Elneny?
Short note about Vardy: apparently the odds on him joining Arsenal dipped drastically this afternoon, well before any mention of us triggering his release clause. Sky tweeted this around 5PM:
"Sky Bet @SkyBet
After a flurry of large bets, Jamie Vardy has now shortened to 8/13 to join Arsenal!"
That makes me think this is genuine. Someone got tipped off.
So... what position does he play?

Interesting observation since his contract is running out next summer.
Not now btw at the end of his contract
Second observation
We've switched to a counter attacking style already. But xhaka and vardy would signal another step down that road.

Cech, Sanchez, Ozil, Vardy.
Yes. Half good players today, half projects is not a win-now transfer strategy.
I honestly reckon this will be the best British signing we will have made since sol Campbell and could have the same impact. It's not just signing he player, it's the intent. 40 per cent of the damage will be carried out on our opponents with this signing based on the intent alone. It shows we mean business. It will also give the whole club a buzz and even exotic household names like Ozil will be excited at this prospect.
I think people will underestimate how good of a signing this is. If only we signed Vardy and Swiss Albanian this time last year.....
We've been waiting 15 years to sign a fox in the box.......a proper one.
Looking forward to Vardy finishing ahead of Zlatan at both the table and top scorers list.

We're not set up to defend for a counterattacking system though. Monreal/Kos/Gabriel/Bellerin are high line players and we don't have any midfielders who are good, consistent positional defenders. Not like Wenger's gonna crack the whip on that front either, occasional big game aside.
If we play 4-3-3 Cazorla would be in CM, you can't have two hotheads like Ramsey and Wilshere in CM together against serious opposition. Wilshere is an attack dog and Ramsey is a glory-hunting prima donna. Cazorla's probably not going to be very good after this injury, but at least he strings passes together and does what he's supposed to. At Arsenal there's four players in the XI who feel entitled to do whatever they want on the football pitch.
There's so little technical quality in the squad for the type of football Wenger tries to play. Xhaka and Vardy are very interesting signings. I'm feeling a system change.
How are you guys pronouncing Vardy?

Sort of agree, we couldn't play a counter attacking system with the squad we started last season with but Elneny, Xhaka and Vardy (?) are suitably different from their predecessors to suggest a system change.
Furthermore, Ramsey's indiscipline was actually punished by the fact that he played most of the season out on the wing.
@Dula,
Not that into this rumour, really. Not exactly what I hoped for in a striker signing.

If Bellers moves to Barca Wenger will slot him in at RB.
