As I said, I'd be annoyed if I saw Tyrion driving around in a car even if zombie ice kings are less realistic, so it really hasn't got anything to do with that. You could say "zombie ice kings exist, but X happening isn't okay? LOL" to pretty much anything.

Nope thats not what anyone said and your car analogy is nonsense. They didn't show you enough day to night transitions, show ruined.

Yup total nonsense,  as opposed to you making it seem like someone has asked for a text on the screen or that someone has said that the show is ruined. I literally started my post with saying that I liked the episode.

Hmm, I think the writing in that episode could've done with quite a bit of re-tooling.

The development of the Sansa-Arya conflict feels haphazard (Why isn't Sansa elaborating more on the circumstances under which the letter was written?).

The excellent special effects and sturdy dirty-dozen-behind-enemy-lines vibe of the sequence beyond The Wall was a bit hamstrung by the issues with time, and menace. I would've enjoyed a more claustrophobic, less enormous battle scene, and one in which the men sacrificed fewer tactical advantages and were a bit shrewder.

But yeah other than that I'd agree I'm just glad the whole thing is rattling along to its conclusion at a decent clip.

I know what you mean. But you did learn that Jon Snow is amphibious which is really cool

Love how the white walkers made a quick stop at the neighborhood home depot North of the wall, and got those huge ass dragon hauling chains.

Bet they got a proper discount too

The chains were on a rotting ship in the lake, you can see them while the group is stranded on the island.

Good article here on how absurd GoT has become. It's interesting though that I criticised the show a couple of seasons back for being too slow, yet now that things have finally sped up, it's been at the expense of "realism". Yes, it's a fantasy show, but as the article says, you still want some truth within the world that has been created.

Oh well, it's still got dragons.

I agree, the writing has gotten very sloppy now that they're ahead of the books. It's pretty bad. We're all just watching to see how it all ends. Shame they couldn't keep up their standards.

Martin couldn't keep up his own standards, the last couple of books have been flabby and dire, the quality of the show right now is way ahead of those to be fair.

The standards fell years ago. This season has been the best in years despite its flaws.

Yeah, as far as 'quality' goes GoT went downhil after season 1 or 2. It does feel like incredibly poor planning as far as the pacing goes but it doesn't bother me so much as the entertainment levels have definitely spiked this season and, however unrealistic, I'm definitely more drawn in.

that's fari. season 1 was superb, but that is the case for so many of the greatest shows, that's why we are drawn in.

what we have seen since is some uneven TV, which even then is much better than what is typically served up elsewhere. that said, last season i thought Battle of the Bastards and Winds of Winter were incredible, as was Hardhome the season before. and this season, we have have had episodes like Queen's Justice which were rather good.

Yeah, overall this is where I'm at too.

Actually really liked the episode and the pacing that seemed more Game of Thrones-like again, but I was really hyped for Cleganebowl. Guess it's a good thing they don't feel obliged to deliver fan service all over the place.

They basically set up Cleganebowl next season with that dialogue between the Hound and The Artist Formerly Known As Gregor, though.

The scene between Cersei and Tyrion was the best one I've seen in ages. Nothing happened and it was perfect. We used to have so many of them during the first three seasons but they're rare as direwolf sightings nowadays. Give Lena Headey all the emmys. She deserves them.

Yeah, scenes like that are what I miss the most. Everyone I know say that the show gets better after season 1, but I still think it's the best one.

i thought season 4 was great. purple wedding, tyrions trial, oberyn, tywins death, defense of the wall. all good stuff

Can't help but feel the romance between dany and jon/aegon is a bit crowbarred. Jon has been trying his damndest to get the goodies and been making some dumb choices in the process

I love her. She plays psycopath so well. Good episode to end the season. Looking back, the beginning of episode 6 and the majority of episode 7 reminded me that we did not have enough good dialogue in this season. There were so many good exchanges these past two episodes, whereas the rest of the season had perhaps a little too much action or scenes driven by wooden actors like Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington. Any scene with both Emilia and Kit has the emotional substance of silly putty. Well done, Jeremy Podeswa

Came in just to post something along these lines. She is fantastic. The episode in general was mediocre imo.

Even though you could see it coming, it was quite enjoyable seeing Littlefinger realise he had been beaten at his own game and that he had smirked his last smirk.
