Dortmund should just rename themselves to Bayern reserves.
Other Clubs transfer thread Summer 2016
Footballer in lying shocker.
At the end of the day he could have moved to another club 5 years ago when he won his first Bundesliga with Dortmund but he stayed till now.
He was pretty loyal staying with them for 9 years.
Yeah, now that you mention it he was pretty loyal to them. I take it you also sent RVP letters to Manchester and Istanbul thanking him for sticking with us for eight years too.

Just like Cesc stayed with us for 8 years. Both were pretty loyal eh?
any chance javi martinez shakes loose?

Although its not a popular, I agree with Cesc it was his time to leave. He stuck around years with the denilson, diaby, song, eboue midfield. And sporadic helb and always injured rosicky. He was far to good for the team. And had to make that move for his career. There's maybe 5 good players in the world that might have stayed in that situation.

If Hummels was injured for a majority of the period and left after one injury free season like RVP did I'd be inclined to agree with you.

Although I didn't like Barcelona's tactics of haggling the price down and going public every other day Cesc was pretty loyal. He virtually had the interest of big clubs like Madrid from 2006 when he played a big part in the run to the CL final. He still stayed for 5 years. And looking at Wenger's utter lack of ambition I have no dislike towards him.
I never had much issues with Cesc leaving, but the fashion in which he did it put me off. Wenger basically admitted that he refused to play for us.
van Persie is another matter entirely; there's really no comparison. We gave him a top career by sticking with him for a decade when he was constantly in and out of the treatment room, and as soon as he had 12 injury free months he thanked us by fucking off to one of our worst rivals, but not before disparaging the club in public with his silly open letter that the marketing bureau wrote for him. I've never wanted a player to break his leg as much as him.

The injuries aren't the problem and even if they were, it's not like Hummels was top class for them from day one. Couple seasons ago before Subotic did his ACL there was a time when he was picked and played through his bad form despite better options available in Sokratis and Subotic, the club showed him some loyalty as well. He was given a chance by Dortmund and now returns in his prime to the club who didn't give a shit about him when he left.
There's also the thing that he's Dortmund's captain and attacked Götze for the exact thing he's doing now and also that they are yet to play each other in the cup final in a couple weeks. You'd have to twist this situation a few dozen times to think Hummels has been loyal to BVB after announcing that he wants to go only to Bayern.

Injuries aren't the problem? Of course they are. He gave us one injury free season.
Hummels was linked to big clubs since 2011 and 12. Pretty sure he had options to go to bigger clubs or up his money significantly for many years and still he's been with Dortmund.
He turns 28 this year and he's given 9 years of quality service and allowed Dortmund to make a lot of money on him for a CB. His family also live in Munich and his father was a coach there.
What should Hummels do, stay at Dortmund his entire career? When a player reaches a certain level, he looks to move to a bigger club. It's just what happens.
It's always happened and it always will. Only a select few will stay with a team for their entire career, why is everyone expecting Hummels to be one of those guys? Writing was on the wall that he'd leave sooner or later. Does it leave a sour taste in certain peoples mouth's that the club he is choosing is Bayern? If so, tough luck. Doesn't bother me personally.

You don't seem to get the point. No body cares that he goes to a bigger team, but that the bigger team is Bayern.
The second issue is his eatlier statements, he even criticized Götze for going to Bayern.
He was with Bayern from 6 years old. If anything he's going home. Sucks for Dortmund fans but that's what happens, it's naive to think he'd spurn the opportunity to return to stay at Dortmund. Perhaps some Dortmund fans need a reality check as to how big their club is. Bite the bullet and take it on the chin.
If Bellerin was a world class full back for 8 years and stayed with us for a full 8-9 years and then returned to Barca, so be it. Annoying, but that's about it.
'There is no footballing reason to leave Dortmund,' Hummels said of Gotze's move in 2013, 'I don't feel I have to play at the biggest club in the world in order to win titles.'
He said it because Dortmund were doing well in the league and had got to the CL. Well that's changed now.
3 years without a Bundesliga title must have changed Hummels mind on the matter and is happy to swap sides.
Yeah exactly Savz. Landscape's changed. At least Hummels was around when they were down last year in the standings and didn't have CL football. He helped them get back into it at a time when he and Reus could easily have left.
He's a cunt, but who isn't I guess.

You're missing the source of their frustration. He's not going to join City or Barcelona in a foreign league, he's joining a club that directly rival Dortmund, a club that Dortmund fans can't stand, to a club that they're desperately trying to get the upper hand over and he's gone and switched sides shitting on any dreams Dortmund fans may have had of competing next season. It's the biggest dick move in football.
Cry me a riverrrrrr ohhhh, cry me a riverrrrrr

Bayern is also the club where he spent more than a decade as a child all the way to the senior team.
