i'd say walcott has become a hate figure, mainly due to his pussy-footedness and lack of desire

I'd be surprised if the general sentiment on here about Walcott is representative of the larger fan base.

Maybe with some fans but Theo is still well liked by a lot of other fans to balance it out - tends to be a bit like Marmite.

He deserves the stick he gets though doesn't he? For exactly the sort of wimpiness you describe. Selling him and replacing his position in the squad, both in terms of the games he expects to play and the wage that he's on, with a player that has similar quality but is actually up for the fight for at least 6 months of the season, would be a big step forward. So he really is part of the problem, it's not just picking on players for the sake of it. Walcott and a number of others like him have shit attitudes that see them accept playing crap, accept dropping silly points, accept losing when you can't lose.

Yes, that stems from the manager but Özil doesn't take it laying down, Sanchez doesn't, Wilshere doesn't - these are our big players and Walcott is supposed to be one of them, too, otherwise what's he being paid £140,000 a week for?

I honestly believe there are no sporting reasons to leave our club. There's a great development at the club and Mario (Götze) was friends with everybody at the club, which is why I'm highly disappointed in him leaving for Bayern
