Sporadic moments of brilliance aside Shelvey is shite tbh.

He's a good player but I think he is too unfit and slow.

Our desperation has spawned Shelvey. What are we? Spurs?

Can't even be bothered to wish list. It is infuriating that everything that was true in May about our needs is still true. 🙁

Honestly, I'm even past wishing the really big superstars now. Let's simply do the pragmatic.
Carvalho is a ready made DM. Get him. Gotze is surplus to requirements at Bayern. Get him too. Just put £70m into them and stick with what we have.

---------- Giroud ---------
Gotze - Ozil - Sanchez

  • Ramsey --Carvalho -

That gives us a bit more of the balance that we need I think. Coq and Caz is dysfunctional

He's not shite at all, not too far off someone like Cabaye, I'd take him over Henderson too. Infinitely better than a clown like Milner who loads of folks seemed to want us to sign as a backup.

That being said, I don't think he has the defensive qualities to play alongside Ramsey and he's not good enough going forward to play alongside Coquelin, so he'd be a bit pointless as a backup.

I think Shelvey is pretty good too. Streaky player, but he's got a higher ceiling than anyone Liverpool have playing for them. You can see it at Swansea - he likes picking out the space behind the defence.

He's a poor mans Vieira, but still only 23, maybe could improve at a big club.

Linked to Simone Zaza

He'd be brilliant for us. Right handful and rounded striker

He reminds me of Giroud...

Linked with a seriously talented prospect today

Demarai Gray

Looks great

Schalke know what he could be worth, they aren't going to sell him for cheap. They'll want the price for the finished article, specially after Martial went for 50mil. Similar to their handling of Draxler, after Bale they were demanding 40mil plus fee.

Looks like Ox. Face wise. Comparisons stop there though. I watched first time midweek and liked him

Rumours in Spain that we'll make a move for Samper, very odd if we went for him in January when his camp was sending all sorts of signals in the summer for us swoop in. Have never seen the guy but those who follow Barca rate him as one of the best talents out of the club for years. From what they say fits the profile of the type of CM we need, someone who isn't quite ready yet though.

The rumours seem to coincide with news of Arteta, Wilshere and Rosicky being further away from their first team comebacks than previously estimated. The prospect of Flamini being our main midfield backup for the rest of the season is probably - rightly - scaring Wenger.

Samper is a top talent. Actually quite similar to Guardiola in style. Looks like he'd need to come on physically to prosper in England though

top players aren't available in jan, so we should try to grab some primo young talent. rabiot, sane, samper, a few top U21 strikers, guys like that

Very talented on the ball but question marks over his fitness. Needs to up the intensity of his game at times but for a 22 year old CM he plays a very mature game, good goal threat too. Never coming here though because Gestifute.

you guys ready for the best thing youve ever seen?

wait....

patience...

okay, here it is...

Real Madrid are lining up a move for Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy, 28, in the January transfer window. (Metro, via Fichajes)

Aubameyang is now joint top scorer in Europe alongside Lewandowski.

And no one on here wanted him in the summer.

No one wanted him anywhere.

If they did, he wouldn't still be at Dortmund.

in fairness, some of us mentioned him as an option. now that Wenger has employed this small ball formation, it makes even more sense than it did 4 months ago. i'd take him in December. Theo's not reliable enough and it's time to send Welbeck to the knackers

Most teams had a striker already.

wrong. we bid 40m euros and were rejected outright. plenty of clubs will be keen once this season is over

Higuain also has 9 in 12 this season. Top scorer in Italian league.

But the striker purchase ship has sailed. No one decent will come in Jan, and by next summer Wenger will stick with Walcott/Giroud. I don't expect Wenger to sign anyone in Jan.

What kind of logic is that? Why would anyone exist at any club by that logic wtf

I'd be delighted if we signed him in January.

That can hardly be true though as he's getting plenty of game time there, isnt he?

Yeah. Jese has started playing. Links to him and Isco make much less sense with Benitez in charge. Those guys are getting game time.

They'll need him when Benzema is banged up.

some good goals and link up play in here. but that ship has sailed, i think

Maybe I wasn't paying attention before, but I always felt his game was lacking before. Now, he shows great vision and execution of passes, he holds the ball up, and his finishing, of course, seems a lot more natural than before. Have to hold my hands up and say I was completely wrong about this boy.

for january: sell debuchy and buy a competent right back.

Wenger is surely going with Jenko next season, so I can't see us buying another right back. If Debuchy goes, which he shouldn't be allowed to IMO, then Chambers is our back up for the remainder of the season is my bet.
