SEVERANCE is decent, we're keeping up with it. I think it's brilliant but I can see one bad reveal ruining all the effort.

Been enjoying SILO more than I would've expected.

Asterix if you've only got 4 episodes worth of material make a movie. 8 episodes is tight enough for a TV show anyway. If something needs less than 6 its definitely better off as a movie.

Burnwinter I really like it too but its definitely a show thats reputation is going to live or die on the last season. Right now its throttling along at a rip roaring pace though. Some of the things that have happened already this seasons feel like stuff you wouldn't expect till season 4 of a 5 seasons show.

We're only just getting Ludwig here in Australia now - not sure when it showed in the UK. I really like David Mitchell, and the character is perfect for him.

And I've just started season 3 of Reacher. S1 was great; s2 not as good. Alan Ritchson is perfect as Reacher.

Qwiss I think I generally agree, although 4-5 hours of tv can be perfect for something. LOTR would work well as TV or as 3 movies. Pride and Prejudice was better as 5 tv episodes than one movie. But they are probably the exceptions. And they are adaptations, not completely original productions. So yes in general I think you're probably right.

Same here. I binged season 2 over a couple of days when I was home sick a little while back. It's by no means perfect or even great sci-fi, but it's quite enjoyable and the story has adequate depth to it.

Daz The tale of the self-published stories behind it that made their author millions via online sales is quite a thing.

Season 1 was really good, a lot of what Disney has done with Stars has been garbage but Andor and Rogue One were both really good.

JazzG Amazon just purchased Bond. I expect they are going to bleed Bond dry in the same way Disney has bled Star Wars and Marvel. We will have the Q Origin Story, Moneypenny The Double Agent, and all kinds of other crap. Maybe something about Bond in his navy days.
Fortunately it's owned by anti-woke Bezos, so we will at least be saved the Indian Bond or female Bond for now.

😆 After what they've done with LOTR I would hold fire to see what they do!

The damage this woman has done to the Star Wars brand! Before taking over Lucas Films regarded as one of the top producers and has a great record but her time at Lucas Films has been a disaster imo,

JazzG it has been a disaster, but LucasFilm didn't really have a great track record. The last four movies they made were the prequels + Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The quality hasn't gone down, but it's more bloated than before due to too much content.

Claudius Bonds been shite for years anyway. They should have done black Bond ages ago and gave it to Idris.

I just hope Bond can get back to being a bit of fun and not a second rate Jason Bourne.

I quite liked the Daniel Craig Bond films (especially Skyfall), but I agree, the world probably needs a fun Bond series again.

I was dreading them making Bond American - "howdy y'all, the name's Baaarrrnnnd, Jaames Baaarrrnnd."

JazzG don't how why she was still around after the sequel trilogy turned out to be a critical and commercial flop

Asterix I thought Skyfall and Casino Royale were excellent. Probably my two favourite Bond movies. The others were decent but lumpier - either overdone villains (without being fun like Sean Connery rivals), incredibly long run times, and bloated casts at times but a good run overall. The best since Connery

banduan I agree, but other than that one I've never rewatched any of the other Craig movies. Don't remember much about them either.

QuincyAbeyie Agreed, the mandalorian which was a great series has spun off two series and it feels like content is just being made for the sake of it rather than quality story telling. As a star wars fan Obi Wan series looked really appealing and apart from a few great moments it was largely average. Same for another iconic character in Boba Fett. Ahsoka to be fair wasn't too bad, Ray Stevenson was superb and sad he passed away.

Agreed about Indiana Jones, I haven't even watched the last one and have heard it isn't great, most will watch it for nostalgia and seeing Harrison Ford which is sad because he deserves better.

Gazza M don't how why she was still around after the sequel trilogy turned out to be a critical and commercial flop

So bad, the story was all over the place and on top they butchered Luke Skywalker, the Mandalorian showed what fans we could see with Luke and instead we got this depressed version of him! Force Awakens wasn't too bad but the second was just terrible.

banduan Casino Royale is probably the best bond movie of all time.

It was a great movie but hard to explain this but it didn't feel like a Bond movie if that makes sense. It felt more like a fusion of James Bond and Bourne Identity! That is fine and maybe they needed to change with the times but I grew up watching Roger Moore & Sean Connery so those newer films have a much more gritty and darker feel to them.

JazzG wasnt Timothy Dalton already darker and grittier? I think the critique back then was the series had lost its fun element, and then they rebounded hard with Pierce Brosnan.
Other thing I liked about Casino Royale was the supporting cast - Eva Green, Mads Mikklesen and Judi Dench were all great.

Exactly. Its a Bond movie for people who didn't like Bond movies.
