Claudius "Get on with it, mutha-”
One More on the Telly
Such a good scene. Remember praying that he somehow comes out alive, like they just hug it out and part ways with mutual respect. Probably would have bombed but I’d be happy.
The Day of the Jackal is excellent. One of the few shows that manages to surprise me a few times without having to resort to ridiculous twists.

goon could have done without some of the family stuff, Bianca being so annoying and her boss sounding like a cliche of every on screen MI5/6 boss ever, but thought the story was pretty engaging, verging on compelling and delivered an excellent final episode. Excited to see what season 2 brings.
Bin the crap, sub James Bond, theme tune though. It's like lobotomized Portishead.

Yeah, most of the M16 stuff was a bit low rent. Feels like some of that stuff was tailored for the American audience.
Bianca was annoying but I loved that they didn’t make her character this moral goody two shoes who was ultimately vindicated with her persistence. She did bad things herself, and her persistence cost her her life. The Jackal himself didn’t have some revelation where he decides to become good and join the good guys, he just kept on doing bad things and if anything killed increasingly more innocents along the way. It fits more with real life than how a lot of the these shows conclude. The only thing I didn’t really buy is that they wouldn’t just pay him and instead try to kill him off, but I can live with it for a season 2 plot line
I like Ronan Bennett's work but this show could've been four episodes lighter.
I'm really enjoying season 2 of Severance. Just so different from anything else going around (at least that I've seen). Great characters, intriguing story, good pacing, looks stunning etc.
SEVERANCE is decent, we're keeping up with it. I think it's brilliant but I can see one bad reveal ruining all the effort.
Been enjoying SILO more than I would've expected.
Asterix if you've only got 4 episodes worth of material make a movie. 8 episodes is tight enough for a TV show anyway. If something needs less than 6 its definitely better off as a movie.
Burnwinter I really like it too but its definitely a show thats reputation is going to live or die on the last season. Right now its throttling along at a rip roaring pace though. Some of the things that have happened already this seasons feel like stuff you wouldn't expect till season 4 of a 5 seasons show.

We're only just getting Ludwig here in Australia now - not sure when it showed in the UK. I really like David Mitchell, and the character is perfect for him.
And I've just started season 3 of Reacher. S1 was great; s2 not as good. Alan Ritchson is perfect as Reacher.
Qwiss I think I generally agree, although 4-5 hours of tv can be perfect for something. LOTR would work well as TV or as 3 movies. Pride and Prejudice was better as 5 tv episodes than one movie. But they are probably the exceptions. And they are adaptations, not completely original productions. So yes in general I think you're probably right.
Burnwinter Been enjoying SILO more than I would've expected
Same here. I binged season 2 over a couple of days when I was home sick a little while back. It's by no means perfect or even great sci-fi, but it's quite enjoyable and the story has adequate depth to it.
Daz The tale of the self-published stories behind it that made their author millions via online sales is quite a thing.
Season 1 was really good, a lot of what Disney has done with Stars has been garbage but Andor and Rogue One were both really good.

JazzG Amazon just purchased Bond. I expect they are going to bleed Bond dry in the same way Disney has bled Star Wars and Marvel. We will have the Q Origin Story, Moneypenny The Double Agent, and all kinds of other crap. Maybe something about Bond in his navy days.
Fortunately it's owned by anti-woke Bezos, so we will at least be saved the Indian Bond or female Bond for now.
The damage this woman has done to the Star Wars brand! Before taking over Lucas Films regarded as one of the top producers and has a great record but her time at Lucas Films has been a disaster imo,
