So it is only for youth players then.

Every player who joins Arsenal have to do a series of written tests that Wenger sets.

Not sure if any transfer failed to materialise just because the player did not pass the test though.

If you mean the psycological test that test is extremely likely to be after a player signs. And its just to classify players that might benifit from physocilogical intervention. Which isnt talking about warm and fuzzy feelings.

If a player is nervious before a game he might put on headphones to be left alone that could be positive or negative depending on the factors that stress him out.
The morning of a game he might be made a video that has his best game and while hes watching the vidoe he'll be told to think about how he felt that day. To enought those good feeling before he plays.

Its all about that kind of thing and making self talk more positive.

I am pretty sure it's for all players. I can't remember who it was (I think it was Arteta) talking about it in one of the interviews and Wenger subsequently also mentioned that in a BeinSport interview last year that it was to ensure the players have the right values, ethics and intelligence to play for us.

I find it pretty impossible that if someone fails that and we abort their transfer though. How does that even work?

If Denilson, Chamakh and Gervinho passed the test...

Sounds like something Wenger would find favourable in a player. Flamini for instance did a law degree.

Yeah, Gilberto had some education back in Brazil too and had worked a real dayjob. Other past favourites of his like Henry and van Persie were clearly intelligent guys too. And he seems to get along well with Kos, who I think was studying at higher levels back in France. I think it's something he values.

Vieira seems like a very smart guy too. Obviously Bergkamp was a hugely intelligent and thoughtful player.

And Senderos? Nobody ever mentions Senderos.

Chamakh was an accountant, wasn't he?

Bergkamp holds an Engineering degree from the University of Bath. I have no idea how he managed that.

Arteta speaks like 5 different languages too.

Surely he's engineered enough brilliant stuff to be eligible for a diploma  ๐Ÿ™‚

Not a mention here for mystery man Park and his 150 IQ?

Just because they were poor for us doesn't make them idiots, we had and have loads of much dumber players than those.

Damn, that's seriously impressive.

Isn't this based along the lines of the player profiling conducted at Clairfontaine?
IIRC there was something about Diaby 'failing' at Clairfontaine prior to joining us as not being deemed to have the right stuff re mental fortitude or winning mentality?

I find it hard to believe that we only sign players who pass the GRE.

Interesting. Diaby was never really a very intelligent player.

Only thing I heard about Diaby at Clairefontaine was his televised bust up with Ben Arfa ๐Ÿ˜†

Aside from that he is/was supposed to be one of the more intelligent players in our squad, think he's got a degree as well.

he didn't fail at Clairefontaine, he was there for the 3 year program.

be good at math, speak multiple languages, get an education and then be called dumb by people on the internet because they don't like how you play football, so awesome.

Tbf Diaby's had a lot of time to get a degree over the past 10 years.

One guy said that he wasn't an intelligent player.

No one else have mentioned his intellect.

He was an incredibly stupid player. Probably an average student too in real world terms. Deal with it.

Anzac said (not without IIRC-covering himself as usual) Diaby failed some mental fortitude bullshit test at Clairefontaine. If you fail a mental fortitude bullshit test such as in the DailyMail link chances are you're retarded.

He should receive an honourary masters in physiotherapy

Deal with what, arrant speculation? Come on Klaus.

Edit: some wag (Pep?) has scripted the site to fuck up your name. :hat:

What do want me to say instead - "I remember reading something in passing a number of years ago?"

Let me troll in peace, Burnsy.

Soz. For some reason I really liked Diabyโ€”and in retrospect the emotional investment wasn't worth it.

with Welbeck, Flamini and Debuchy on the books for next season, I hope Klaus watches games wearing boxing gloves.

I really wish Klaus wouldnt hate on Debuchy so much. ๐Ÿ™

Post the source for example, it's not that hard. Not having a go at you, it's just not the first time that you recall dodgy things with even dodgier sources.

Kloos just need a middle ground. He's generally spot on with his neutral views, but when it comes to the player he dislikes or likes, it's extreme.

This is spot on ๐Ÿ˜†

Yeah when he has no opinion on something he rarely gets it wrong.

Ah fuck

I've worked myself up into a tizzy

I'm convinced it's Gotze Arsene will go for

He's so so freakin good

That's the video I just watched before posting in the other thread. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had no idea he was that good.

Slightly zidane-esque. I can just imagine one touch passes between Gotze, Ozil and Ramsey.

Worked meself into a right old tizzy Nels

What do you make of stinky spurs stadium plans Nela? Bunch of rats ain't they?!

Doubt we'd get him, but it would be very wengerish to have the 2 most mecurial german footballers on the planet
