Although Wenger doesn't obviously set the tests, that would be taking the 'Le Professur' tag a little too seriously. 
I imagine most other clubs would do the same. The criteria they look for may vary.

If you mean the psycological test that test is extremely likely to be after a player signs. And its just to classify players that might benifit from physocilogical intervention. Which isnt talking about warm and fuzzy feelings.
If a player is nervious before a game he might put on headphones to be left alone that could be positive or negative depending on the factors that stress him out.
The morning of a game he might be made a video that has his best game and while hes watching the vidoe he'll be told to think about how he felt that day. To enought those good feeling before he plays.
Its all about that kind of thing and making self talk more positive.

I can't remember who it was (I think it was Arteta) talking about it in one of the interviews and Wenger subsequently also mentioned that in a BeinSport interview last year that it was to ensure the players have the right values, ethics and intelligence to play for us.
I find it pretty impossible that if someone fails that and we abort their transfer though. How does that even work?

Yeah, Gilberto had some education back in Brazil too and had worked a real dayjob. Other past favourites of his like Henry and van Persie were clearly intelligent guys too. And he seems to get along well with Kos, who I think was studying at higher levels back in France. I think it's something he values.
Vieira seems like a very smart guy too. Obviously Bergkamp was a hugely intelligent and thoughtful player.

Isn't this based along the lines of the player profiling conducted at Clairfontaine?
IIRC there was something about Diaby 'failing' at Clairfontaine prior to joining us as not being deemed to have the right stuff re mental fortitude or winning mentality?
I find it hard to believe that we only sign players who pass the GRE.

Interesting. Diaby was never really a very intelligent player.
Only thing I heard about Diaby at Clairefontaine was his televised bust up with Ben Arfa 
Aside from that he is/was supposed to be one of the more intelligent players in our squad, think he's got a degree as well.
he didn't fail at Clairefontaine, he was there for the 3 year program.

Tbf Diaby's had a lot of time to get a degree over the past 10 years.
