Didn't think this day would ever come. So long Abou, may your departure signal the end of the abnormal injury woes that both you and this club have suffered from in the last nine years!

We should have kept him till Jan and given him a testimonial for the lulz.

Which he'd have watched from a box due to injury.

In other news Richard Wright has earned himself a new deal at City.

Hope he can get a Rosicky-like redemption somewhere.

if nobody takes him...would he have to retire or stay back? how does this free transfer thing work if nobody takes him.

Very unfortunate. Showed a lot of promise at a young age. I guess he'll be alright financially but that's not much consolation for the career he could've had. Good luck to him.

Just heard the news on la radio - au revoir Abou.

Hope you get to play a full fit season somewhere.

Was part of the Auxerre crop which includes Sagna and Kaboul.

What? Have you ever been on the job market?  😆

If he doesn't find a job in the PL or similar, he'll have to lower his wage demands. Of course if he lowers it to, say, £1 a week, he will find a club.

Such a shame it didn't work out, all because some no mark twat smashed his ankle in. He never recovered from that and I admire how much the guy tried to come back. A player with immense talent and a shame we never got to see the best of him. Some really memorable performances by him and him nailing Terry being the highlight of his career 😃

Wow! This really is the dawn of a new era!

Good luck, Huggy bear! hope you make it as a detective, track down Dan Smith, and then hide your tracks well enough.
(if you opt to cook him, share the recipe for our next match day thread. Hope it's Sunderland).

Hope your next chapter is a brighter and luckier one!

😆 can't help but feel a bit ashamed for actually laughing out loud when I read that. It's funny though, and mainly because it's the most likely scenario.

These lists are somehow never accurate every season. Every club will have a few players that is stated to be released but ended up staying at the club.

Don't see why people are celebrating, it's Wengers fault he made a "career" at Arsenal, he kept giving him contracts when it was obvious the guy wouldn't play football never mind top class PL football again.
