Im not mad at Higuain personally and i find it hilarious that some people (for some weird reason) are. The booing at the Emirates Cup was idiotic.
That said - i have never been fully convinced he is the type of player we need and i think he would be utterly mediocre for us. His traits are not suitable for us and i think he would genuinely find it hard to adapt his game for the PL.
Now, with all of that being said - i would have taken him and would take him for about £20m-£25m (as was reported), but not more than that as at a higher price range there would be more useful forwards available for us.
But which forwards would that be?
I think we can all agree on someone like Benzema, but it's highly unlikely that he'll be available, so far at least.
Around 30M isn't even that much in todays market, especially when you consider that we easily could spend 100M overall.
I think we'd be mad to go into another season with Giroud as the main striker, and the thought of it makes me sick. Not because of I don't consider Giroud a good player, but more the way we play with him up front with him being super slow. Higuain has immense movement, decent pace and his runs off the defenders are great.
