So Schneiderlin and Ki couldn't play together, because that would be like having two Özils at CM. Right.
Ki

Didn't mention Ozil playing at CM mate
But I guess you were busy trying hard to be witty.
I think the Ki to a successful tranny window is to Ki-p our options open and hope for the best. Who knows we might get fluKi with a great signing. One thing we don't need it to collect any more donKis and instead shift out a lot of the flaKi, offKi players we have left in the squad. Otherwise other teams will look to take the micKi out of us.
Reckon Southampton should go after him, would be great with Schneiderlin in their midfield.
Can't afford his wages.

Yes but just like Flamini and Ozil have different qualities so do Wanyama and Ki.
There is a reason Schneiderlin is being compared to him in that post itself and other posts in this thread.
You are weird. Schneiderlin is compared to him solely because he is linked with us.
Southampton play with more than 1 CM, and they play 4-3-3 a lot.

Really? Why isn't Vidal being compared to Ki then if linking is all there is to the comparisons.
Yes I do believe they play with more than 1 CM which is why I mentioned Wanyama above.
Because Vidal is obviously of a different level?
Look, there's no point trying to be pedantic in every single thread to everyone. Nobody is going after you, chill and have a kit kat.

So first it was links that was the reason for comparison now it's player levels?
Firstly the varying levels or standards of different players haven't stopped people from comparing players here and secondly make your mind up.
Different players could still fill the same function in a team, even of they go about it differently. Similar to how Koscielny and Mertesacker are a world apart as footballers but both play as central defenders.
There's no template for a defensive midfielder. There are just qualities you might need, and some of them usually come at the expense of others. You could make most players work anywhere; the question is just how much you'd need to tweak the rest of the team and whether it's really worth the effort.

I didn't dispute that Klaus.
For instance, I think that part of the reason Coquelin's workrate stands out is because Ramsey hasn't been playing centrally for most of the spring. And Coq's subsequently rewarded for his hard work with a lot of interceptions because the players in front of him don't stop the ball.
... But with better players in front of him and a more tenacious player next to him, things like distribution and maintaining the shape under pressure become more vital. And that's why Arteta and Ramsey worked so well together last season. They're still a better pairing than Coquelin/Cazorla, and in my opinion we should strive to replicate it next season, but with a younger and quicker player in Arteta's place.

Yeah, fair enough. I wasn't talking to anyone in particular but it probably came across that way.

Yeah I think it makes sense to bring Ramsey back to the centre. I think he can do well with a player like Vidal or Morgan even though they are different sort of players.

I would take Ki if we signed a world class player or two in other positions, I.e. Cech and Reus.
Will he be the Ki to success?
Not for a while. He's too yeung
I think I'd quite like Ki actually. Tall player who's good with the ball, would provide backup to Coq and also represent a different style of defensive midfielder, probably wouldn't break the bank and would allow us to spend more money on a marquee attacking player.
Solid 7/10 signing.
