For instance, I think that part of the reason Coquelin's workrate stands out is because Ramsey hasn't been playing centrally for most of the spring. And Coq's subsequently rewarded for his hard work with a lot of interceptions because the players in front of him don't stop the ball.
... But with better players in front of him and a more tenacious player next to him, things like distribution and maintaining the shape under pressure become more vital. And that's why Arteta and Ramsey worked so well together last season. They're still a better pairing than Coquelin/Cazorla, and in my opinion we should strive to replicate it next season, but with a younger and quicker player in Arteta's place.
