Yeah it really depends on the price. His form is way off and I have doubts if we can resurrect it.
Also he really is not getting any younger, if it's 30m or more we should go for a better player.

Massive gamble to assume a player who'll turn 29 next season is going to recapture the form he last had two years ago, or that even if he did recapture it instantly, without any adaptation, he'd be able to maintain it into his 30's.
You make it sound like he's barely putting the ball in the net.
FFS he's on course for 50 goals mostly from the wing in 2 seasons.
How many games has Cavani played on the wings?
19 starts on the wing and 15 starts in the centre according to this:
http://www.whoscored.com/Players/24328/
Those starts are probably only for the league and the CL btw.
Don't really care how many he's scored (though you say nearly 50 goals in two seasons, I say only 9 league goals this season), he's been diabolical in pretty much every game I've watched.
Cheers IG, wouldn't pay over 25m for him.
He is not underrated
He is underperforming though. The Zlatan excuse has been overused as well. Zlatan has missed plenty of games and he still hasnt impressed. There comes a time in every players career where you just have to realize, that they are either past their peak and that despite being class players with huge potential a few years ago, will probably never take the "final step" and become a megastar. Its time to realize it with Cavani. Yes, he was superb for Napoli, but he made his choice to go to Paris and he hasnt taken the next step in his development. And we shouldnt forget that despite all, Serie A and Ligue 1 are much, much poorer in quality than PL.
If you still honestly think we should sign him, just take an evening or two and watch, watch a PSG match closely and you will see that he is no match for Giroud nowdays. Giroud has been developed into a phsyical beast with a soft touch and a superb link up play. Cavani is no where close to Giroud overall.

I'd agree with that, except I'm guessing this summer that £35m will be the new £25m.

I agree, I'm not entirely why people are quoting Cavani's scoring record in the French league, it's completely meaningless - even more so when compared to Giroud who was just as freely scoring in the French league even when he was very, very raw.
Anyway, I agree - Cavani has been poor to average in every game I've seen him play. Those advocating paying anything significant for him need to recognise that you don't pay any where over £25m for a player that's showing obvious signs of decline/lack of form.
Seems lately that strikers (compared to any other position) are very unpredictable. The Torres collapse in quality is looking less dramatic now. Falcao and Cavani were supposed to be absolute, 100% sure bets for a goal a game strikerate.
he's worth more than welbeck, so 20m and that's it. he's a fuckin shit show every time i've watched him and he's getting older.

Yep.
If ever there's a more obvious Shevchenko, there you go.

I wouldn't compare him with anyone, but I agree with Otf and GM, it really isn't about how many goals he is scoring there. He has looked very poor every time I have seen him, just doesn't look like a top player anymore. He will also be 29 next season and won't come cheap.
If we are looking for a center forward I would rather go for a younger talent who can be competition to Giroud and can develop here.
I tell you what, you can actually quote Cavani's stats and say it is piss poor as well. In every bloody aspect of a striker's game. This is to compare to other strikers we are linked with.
That's horrible tbf.
bring me Lacazette

Welbeck has better stats than him ffs!
Washed-up has been scores a brace. Now at 23 goals this season.
Don't forget that Welbeck has better stats somehow.
