Would our replay with United not be played a week later, seeing as we have Monaco on the Tuesday?

Balls. Yeah you're right. Forgot we've still got that valiant loser crap thing to do where we go there and get a decent result.

edit: Cheers Dragan

I had to switch to a lower quality stream just to avoid Owen's commentary.

Game's gone to a replay, brilliant πŸ™‚

I can only assume that Michael Owen spent all his career facing forwards, 80 yards upfield and has never actually watched a football match.

Liverpool will probably find a way to squeeze past Blackburn in the replay but its still good they have another game to play. Anything to halt the momentum they've been building up - although that might have already happened after today.

If it does go to a replay, scheduling's going to be a nightmare for Liverpool. They've got a league game next Monday. They'll get less than 48 hours gap between that and a Wednesday replay, and then they play Man Utd on Sunday. Man Utd have a similar problem but less extreme. We absolutely have to bring Man Utd for a replay - convinced they'll roll over for us in order to beat Liverpool.

That is some strategic thinking Pat.

Looks like it'll be Reading in the semi-final. I'm kinda glad, Bradford might be a division lower but they've going giant killing pedigree.

Great bantz by the Rovers support:

"Stand up if you won the Premier League"

And

"You're just a shit Steven Gerrard" at Jordan Henderson

Nice.

Toure / Lovren CB pairing πŸ˜†

Surprised there is not any comment regarding Liverpool progressing in the Cup.

I don't think anyone seriously thought that they wouldn't progress.

Coutinho showing his quality again

Blackburn were a bit unlucky. They could have won this game.

I don't care. Judging by their defensive display over these two legs we would have struggled more against Blackburn than Liverpool. Crushing Gerrard in the final is worth the extra danger that we might lose if you ask me.

Soon we'll probably be facing Reading again. I wonder if I will ever again witness a football match as utterly bonkers as the 2012 game against them. Hopefully this time we'll beat them in a more sensible way and then we can look forward to the cup final against Pool.

Although the thought of losing the cup to them is horrible, the thought of crushing their last shred of hope and dignity easily overshadows those worries.

I still haven't gotten over the '01 Final.

That being said, I'm dreading facing them in the final. You just know all the powers in the universe will combine and make sure Gerrard gets a trophy in his last ever game for Liverpool which also happens to be on his birthday. I'm already cringing at the thought of the media wankfest.

Judging by his career, it's more likely the powers in the universe will combine and make sure he fucks up.

Don't know about that. What has Gerrard ever done to make the powers in the universe care about him? He don't seem to have had them on his side lately at least, what with crucial slips and 30 second red cards.

This is Liverpools last hope of salvaging something from this season and finish on a high and ignite some optimism for next season. And the stage is set for Stevie G's final big moment, ridiculously so even, what with the birthday and all. Brendans job probably rides on this match as well.

All the sweeter it will be then, to take a wrecking ball to it all and nail the coffin shut once and for all.

Fleet Street will echo with the sounds of crumpled papers landing in bins.

Gerrard's career is nose-diving towards an ignominious finale, he'll score an own-goal in the cup final to gift us the trophy and will walk off in tears as Rodgers subs him off in order to give him one last standing ovation, which itself will be drowned out by jeers from the Arsenal fans. Can't wait!

Kolo! πŸ˜† How can you not love that man?

It makes me sad to see him now. In his pomp he was a wonderful CB, and now he is reduced to this.

I just pretend that it's a different Kolo TourΓ© who's been running around out there since 2006. It works great for me.

Not so much for me. πŸ™

I'm just telling myself that he's actually doing all of this on purpose. Just to wind up the 'Pool fans and keep us Gooners amused.

I'm with est, Agent Kolo is on the case!

I literally ROFLed even time Kolo touched the ball. We need a gif of the little chip pass near his own box that was so overhit it went straight out.

That has to be the worst touch in the history of football πŸ˜†

Doesn't make me sad at all, the fact that he's doing this stuff for Liverpool just adds to his cult status.

I think it's fair to say we got the best years of King Kolo!

You may lose your pace and recovery from injury as you grow older you don't lose your touch, the reverse is more true.
But it's like he's forgotten everything he learned in football

No other manager has got as much out of him as Wenger did. I still get annoyed thinking Wenger chose to let him go rather than Gallas when it was clear they just couldn't partner each other any more.

If your mate did that on Hackney Marshes, you would rip him to shreds. Fucking hell.  πŸ˜†

He was a supreme athlete and relied on that so the quick decline didn't surprise me at all. Sol was completely running everything at the back,  incredible defender. He just needed some hard-workers around him and he got them. I think it was fine to let Toure go when we did, neither Vermaelen or Gallas could lead properly and I think Kolo wanted a change too/money/trophy challenge. Sol was the one we could've kept. But there was that circus when he walked out V West Ham and he seems a difficult person to manage.

Sol was well past it by the time he left, both mentally and physically.

That whole invincibles team declined pretty rapidly. I'd say the only one we should have kept longer was Pires, given that we often ended up with Diaby and Eboue on the wings in the seasons that followed. Can make the same case for Bertie. I think both wanted to leave by then though.

Get in 1-1! Benteke with a lovely finish after Coutinho's deflected fluke.
