I also think that every Juventus player would consider coming here to be a step down.

I think that several of them would jump at the Premier League challenge and the doubled wages we could offer. But it's moot because Juve wouldn't let them go unless they absolutely had to.

And they don't. Wages would be what we have to sweeten the deal, but from a competitive perspective it is difficult to NOT seeing coming here as a step down.

It's not a step down if they think they can win the league with us in England.

Well, if you are going from the team winning Serie A every year and that is currently in the CL final, then it is a step down to come here.

Only two things that matters are: how much do they get paid, and do they think they can win the league by joining up? Some of them will consider it a step down, others won't.

Juventus are at their peak right now. They're not playing another Champions League final anytime soon. Key players like Pirlo and Barzagli have a year or two left. Tevez moves back to Argentina in 2016. They're at the end of a successful period, not in the middle of it. Their agents will remind them of as much.

Juve always seem a very practical club to me. They seem happy to sell any player if they get the right offer.

I don't know if Vidal if we're in for Vidal or not but you I think Wenger would have answered about any player linked yesterday like that. I think this is the last year some club pays big money for Vidal.

But he was probably there just to see another one of his clients play-

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is also of genuine interest, with Wenger looking for a player who can add creativity as well as defensive solidity to his team. Southampton want at least £25 million for Schneiderlin, with whom there is an understanding that he can leave should a suitable offer emerge.

Jeremy Wilson is very reliable when it comes to Arsenal, I get the impression someone like Schneiderlin might be on hold as we believe someone better might become available.

id pay whatever it took to get vidal. that cast iron mentality is rare in the modern game, and would have such a big impact at arsenal

Wilson is reliable when it comes to team news and the like but not at all when it's about transfer talk, similar to John Cross. He doesn't say anything that hasn't been said by everybody else in the last few days either.

I'd like Schneiderlin here but Southampton can fuck off with their "at least 25m" bullshit, that's nearly Alexis territory ffs. The guy threw a hissy fit last season trying to leave, he doesn't have much longer on his contract and Koeman is already talking about Clasie as his replacement, how exactly does he command north of 25m?

Now this is a player you pay 25m and more for. A bit of a diver but a super quality player, I'd love him here.

Would easily pay same money for Vidal as we paid for Alexis. Just think about having two crazy chileans running around for us!

Me neither. I think Vidal and Marchisio are the ones they will hang onto over the next few years. Pirlo just turned 36 and Pogba is bound to leave any season now. They need to keep Vidal to avoid debasing their midfield too much.

Read an interesting quote from Blanc when talking about Pogba. "He might stay with Juventus, he might sign for a big club and then stay for another year with Juve". I think he is referring to Barca there and with R.Madrid denying all rumours it does look like Pogba might sign for Barca next. The current president and candidates for the next presidency are all rumoured to be talking to Pogba about doing a deal.

Pirlo has confirmed he's leaving after this year, right?

Anyway, i think its easy - they are replacing Vidal with Khedira, Pogba stays on for another year.

Talk in the rags is that AW has changed his mind re Schneiderlin post Coquelin & wants a more dynamic presence, and that ManU want Schneiderlin as they've missed out on Gondogan.

This is my bet.

Guys, he's got a horrible suit + trainers combo. Can we allow that?
