You get the feeling that City's prime motive behind all this is to weaken us.

Not really. He's leaving whether its to City or not.

No one else seems interested and certainly no one else has offered anywhere near the numbers City reportedly have.

I don't know who has offered what.

If the difference really is £50k p/w with what City is offering then i can totally see why he wants to go. He has been on much less (reportedly like £40k-£60k) for so long that its normal to want and secure his future before his career ends.

Seems City move is done according to L'equipe and debut could be against us in the community shield

Probably be on the bench watching.

Is being rumoured that he is getting a deal worth £140k a week there, fair enough if he is happy to be a potentially be a backup player for that kind of money.

Just give him the as reported 90k a week, and add a million signing on fee, and some bonuses further down the contract and he would be earning roughly the same amount as he would at city.

As a bosman he's probably getting a hefty sign-on fee plus the 140k a week deal. Any sort of deal to match that is asking for trouble.

I love Sagna but Man City are absolute bonkers if they're really handing him a 140k pw contract.

120 is what I heard but we are only willing to offer him 90k, which is fair enough.

Sickening that players always want more money, although its human nature. You cant say you love Arsenal though and move to our rivals. I don't mind him going to PSG or Monaco but they are not interested in him.

I can't understand why PSG isn't more interested. Aren't their RBs Jallet and van der Wiel?

Jallet has been a great servant for them, while VDW was having a good season till his injury.

Got to love some of our fans. Apparently he is an OAP who could never cross.

We offered Sagna a great deal, a shame he wants to sit on the bench at City for extra money.

Is it really worth it? Maybe from personal POV for his family and himself, but in terms of how he is seen in the football world and his status?

Status would be one of the main advantages probably, those insane wages aside. He's criminally underrated, mainly because he stuck around for so long and won nothing with us. You can say the same about Koscielny at the moment.

If that is the amount he is going to get at City (23 million), then fair play. Good for him. Its almost 10 million more than what we had to offer (if the rumors about 90K are true).
We need to go and find a starting RB quickly.
