Yeah I should correct my wording then - it assumes Ozil's bonuses and signing on fee were not disproportionate to his wages, which again is speculation, but considering the clubs wage structure and the fear of only having signed Flamini it doesn't strike me as too implausible. I can easily see Wenger offering more money than PSG. Btw, this is all in the case that his reported basic wage is undeniable fact, which again, seeing as I don't pay much attention to matters of salary, I can't say for sure.

The initial point was basically that after having failed with Suarez, Wenger learned from his mistake, and went the extra mile for Ozil.

This is exactly the point. It's like playing musical chairs and handing your chair to a guy standing (Arsenal), when there are no more chairs to go around.

We really got fucked over by the gods. Even with if Robin had stayed, the scumbag, we'd still be in this unenviable position.

Biggest failing I'd say was failing to sign a young striker between 2008-2012 to eventually take over, but then again Wenger went for the experienced Chamakh. Also, that's with hindsight, so yeah that argument sucks.
